This project involves the consolidation of one of the most important cultural systems of Milan around the historical centre, near the Dome: the axis of via Larga, with a particular attention at Theatre La Canobbiana. The aim of the research deal in particular with the possibility of a readjustment, according to the assumption of a “critical-conservative” restoration, an adequate reconstruction and a subsequent reciprocal functional integration of some buildings and areas which are available for new constructions.

The main goal of this project involves the redevelopment of the former industrial area (SNIA) at Cesano Maderno through the creation of a “Public School”: a public work that could embody both a primary school as well as large civic center that would give a new identity and a new center at the town of Cesano, on the suburbs of Milan.

Subject of this project was that the stadium Breda, which since 1913 has welcomed amateur sports activities. The intention of this developed project is to keep this amateur calling so that to create a sports pavilion, each designed for a specific sport. The strength of the project lies in its ability to interact with the environment by developing a complex system of paths in order to create a direct link between the city and the natural element of the park and expand beyond the boundaries of the project itself.

This project represent a urban planning proposal for an area of Sesto San Giovanni: the layout of the project reflects the desire to create a hinge; through a rational grid has been identified two areas that fit together, a public one and a private one. The private part, consisting of residences while the public portion, consisting of the plate, elevated by the system of Green is a complex organ composed of different elements in symbiosis with each other. The public parks play a very important role within the logic as it serves as the connector both between the private and the public sphere, that among the various public spaces.

My first internship took place in Milan, at RealProgest Studio located in Viale Certosa.Upon my arrival was already in progress, almost at the end, rebuilding part of an old medieval court in the small hamlet of Zornasco (VB), which was adapted to residential structure and required a complete renovation of both interior and exterior for the creation of 4 separate apartments.

CRACKS ON VAULTS

This project has been designed during my 6 months exchange program in Netherlands. In between the Schiphol (Amsterdam Airport), Amsterdam South and new town Amstelveen it is the green huge metropolitan area of Amsterdamse Bos, the Amsterdam Forest. The wood consists of sport areas, likeWW an Olympic rowing-course and hockey stadium, several events like Polo and open air concerts are held in here. The task for this city part is to be more sustainable and this project tries to rely on the latest discover about sustainability and energy savings. According to its sportive attitude this project wants to create an undergroud sustainable gym that uses the mechanical energy produced by the machines to convert electrical energy for the complex. In addition other green energies have been adopted like water and solar power and the solar cimneys technology.

SOLAR CHIMNEYS
Solar chimneys can often be an effective and natural “fan” that can aid in passive cooling. A painted black chimney will heat up during the summer, hotter than the air below it. This hot air rises and creates suction on the space below. Having an opening somewhere at the bottom of the building that opens up to a cool space creates a convection current that brings cool air from the bottom through the
building and the hot air out the top through the solar chimney.

Innovation urban interiors between neighborhood and universityInterni urbani dell’innovazione tra quartiere e università
We are now crossing a severe economic crisis, the speed and depth are unprecedented in recent history. To deal with the immediate problems economic initiatives are needed in the short term to lay the foundations of a strategy for future projects.Milano Bovisa is a transformation area made unstable by the combination of local and global changes: on the one hand large projects under discussion for years; on the other the whole series of small but significant changes that take place inside the neighborhood. However instability that comes from these opposing tensions should not be viewed in negative terms: it is the basis of adaptability that has historically characterized the district. Today thanks to its regional accessibility and university campus, Bovisa is a fertile strategic ground for new investments with a view to overcome the globalization in favor of a knowledge economy. University campus, high accessibility and urban quality are the main factors that can evolve some knob inside the city as a innovation hub, the decisive factor in European development. Innovation today is not only technological but also creative and cultural, and requires an exchange and interaction context between different sectors. This exchange context will no longer be the technopolis or science parks but the city itself, involving its urban layout by promoting the knowledge workers as well as new behaviors to a high level of creativity and sustainability widespread.

In this section I have included research works developed during my academic period: aim of these researches was redesign architectural case-studies with the support of three-dimensional models. This approach has allowed to study a project in its entirety, develop manual skills but mainly to understand the role and importance of the architectural composition of spaces.
