Nova Group, Inc. Architects and Engineers 6312 Hazelwest Court Suite 102 Hazelwood, Missouri 63042 314/731-5353 314/731-5423 (fax) www.novagroupinc.net

Nova Group, Inc. is an Architectural - Engineering Design and Consulting firm located in Hazelwood, Missouri, with active projects throughout the Midwest. The principals of the firm, James M. Pinter, R.A. and John C. Ulrich, P.E., have 42 and 41 years experience, respectively, in the design of healthcare, and retail projects. A large number of these projects consist of new buildings, renovated buildings and tenant finish design for the retail building owner and/or developer. Nova Group, Inc. is particularly proud that, as we celebrate our 28th year in business, we have had the opportunity to design over 400 free standing retail or shopping centers comprising approximately 11.5 million square feet of floor area. These designs range from a 400 S.F. airport retail tenant space to a 65,000 S.F. grocery store anchoring a 200,000 S.F. power center. In contracting design or consulting services with Nova Group, Inc., building owners will be working directly with one of the principals of the firm. This is an advantage to the owner, knowing that they will be working and speaking directly with the people personally responsible for the actions of the firm. Part of the consultant services offered by Nova Group, Inc. are Building - Roof Investigation and Evaluation services, areas in which both principals are highly qualified and have a substantial background and track record. The Building Investigation and Evaluation services consist of a review of the existing building to ascertain the overall physical conditions of the general building, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. This review can be tailored to entail a detailed report or a cursory overview, depending upon the purpose for which it is intended.

JAMES M. PINTER, R.A., LEED AP As a principal, Mr. Pinter is responsible for establishing the design direction of the company. Mr. Pinter will organize, on each project, the interdisciplinary coordination required to maintain production schedules and quality design, within the project cost limitations. He is also responsible for, along with his partner, the managing of the day to day business affairs of the firm. Mr. Pinter's 41 years of experience include the managing and design of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. Successfully completed buildings include single and multi-family residences, office-warehouses, office buildings, shopping centers, supermarkets, banks, cold storage plants, manufacturing, and health care facilities. His involvement with these projects has extended from the inception of the idea to the final completion of the building. While working on the different projects listed above, Mr. Pinter has become thoroughly familiar with Building Codes, Product Specifications, and Construction Procedures. At the forefront of his experience is the preparation of preliminary construction cost estimates. Mr. Pinter's background, with the many different types of buildings and construction types listed above, has allowed him to develop an expertise in reviewing and evaluating building and roof systems. To compliment his background and experiences, Mr. Pinter has attended many seminars on roofing systems and building design which aid him in the review and evaluation process.

Nova Group, Inc. was selected by Schnuck Markets, Inc. to design a new 65,000 S.F. grocery store as the first phase of a new development with an attached retail center as phase II. The redevelopment of this site began with the acquisition of an old, single user retail building that had been abandoned and neglected for a number of years. Through the joint efforts of the local municipality and the developers, Schnuck Markets was able to enter the “new market” with a first class building and provide a new service to the local residents. The construction to the phase II retail center needed to compliment the Schnucks store design and provide tenant identification to a wide variety of tenant types and size.

The Blackstone Group was invited by the Walgreen Company to be one of their primary developers as they extended into the new market area of Indianapolis, Indiana. Walgreens identified 19 sites in Indianapolis that they wished to develop. And asked Nova Group, Inc. to develop a new “Twin Peaks” prototype that they would use in Indianapolis. Walgreens liked this design so much that they later employed this prototype into a national standard. The location of this 12,800 S.F. building at 38th Street and Sherman, in Indianapolis was one of four (4) initial locations that were opening simultaneously by the Blackstone Group and kicked off the eventual development of eight (8) Walgreens stores designed by Nova Group, Inc. in the Indianapolis market.

Nova Group, Inc. was invited by the Desco Group to participate in the design of this “power retail center” which is anchored by Target and Home Depot. The retail center which compliments the Target and Home Depot is 104,000 S.F. of building area. Junoir anchors include Office Max, Petsmart, Hibbet Sports, and Super Market of Shoes. The building design was driven by the need to provide the junior anchors with their own individual identities which are complimentary to the major anchors of the site.

Nova Group, Inc. was selected by the Greystone Group to participate in the design of this 13,500 S.F. new Walgreens store located in Shawnee Hills, Ohio at the northeast corner of Dublin and Glick. The city of Shawnee Hills was extremely interested in the building design that would be sympathetic to the character of the residential design in the area. Through numerous public hearings and private meetings over a year long time frame, Nova Group, Inc was able to achieve a building exterior design that allowed Walgreens to have the presence that they required and allowed the city and residents of Shawnee Hills to have a Walgreens store that was softer in appearance and utilized materials that were prevalent in this area.

Kimco Realty enlisted the services of Nova Group, Inc. to assist in the redevelopment of this St. Louis City retail center. This new retail center stands on the site of an old, out-dated shopping mall. With Shop n Save as the anchor, this “L” shaped center provided for the addition of 60,000 plus square feet of retail space to accommodate a variety of large and small retailers. Several outlot buildings were designed to complete the redevelopment of this site. This development was a collaborative effort by the developer, the city, and the design team to help revitalized this area.

Nova Group, Inc. assisted the Blackstone Group with the design of this new 15,120 S.F. Walgreens store located at the intersection of Telegraph and Erb Roads in St. Louis County, Missouri. Along with the challenges of a highly sloping site, the Blackstone Group faced a hostile rezoning in the completion of approvals of this project. Nova Group, Inc. assisted in the site design with a “creative” building placement and application of landscaping. When the local resident association demanded a building design that was more sympathetic with the existing residential area, Nova Group, Inc. worked with the developer and Walgreens to achieve a design that was “at least 50% shingle roof” in elevation.

Nova Group, Inc. was selected by Jack In The Box, Inc. to execute the design of this co-brand facility in St. Peters, Missouri. This building contains two distinct functions, a Jack In The Box restaurant and a Quickstuff convenience store, which share a common lobby and public services, yet must remain separate and maintain their own identity. The building site also was required to provide circulation for a drive thru window at the Jack In The Box and a gasoline canopy the front of the site. The exterior materials were required by the city of St. Peters to match the adjacent developments, while maintaining the tenant brand recognition.
