EXPERIENCE REVIT FAMILY CREATOR Summer 2015Luminaire LED Inc., Edison, NJWith the growing popularity of BIM and Revit over the past few years in the architecture community, many companies seek to model their product lines as families in Revit; thus allowing architects to upload the families into their projects. At Luminaire LED Inc., I collaborated with the engineering and outside sales force to create series of Revit families containing the geometry and product specifications of lighting fixtures.
SALES REPRESENTATIVE December 2013 - July 2015Vector Marketing, Central NJAs architects, we must have extensive practice in selling our ideas to a client. Joining the Vector Market-ing sales team enabled me to obtain an extensive skill set and confidence to present and sell merchan-dise to potenital customers. During the first 10 days on the job, I sold $2600 worth of Cutco products by performing at home demonstrations. I attended district conferences and was active and passionate about the product I was promoting. FALL 2015 | DROP 320
For centuries, our minds have been trained to think that a home would not be complete without furniture; however, in 2040, this belief will be put to the challenge. Drop 320 is a spacious 320 sqft. microunit that takes the basic rectangular plane and folds it into three sections in order to create separate space for intimate and open activity in the home. The intimate spaces have a fixed place to sleep and for personal hygiene, while the central open space remains flexible. The floor tiles in the central open space are comprised of removable panels which have added
program and storage underneath. Drop 320 strips the home of all unnessecary furnishings and allows the clutter and activity of the inhabitant to fill in the voids.

Weaving Terrain Housing takes the concept of basket weaving and scales it up into a large residential housing project. Each thread is a linear array of eight units. Four units are placed on the bottom, and four are placed up top connected by a diagnal light well. The first layer consists of rows that run north to south across the site from the first floor to the second floor. The second layer runs east to west and transitions from the second floor to the third floor. The basket weaving technique allows for dynamic layers, complexity
of space, and pockets of natural light while maintaining a formalized pattern in plan. Each array on the bottom layer is supported by six structural piloti. The absence of units in these areas create a socially interactive space underneath the complex with reflection pools that help disperse the light. The long sides of each unit have a glazed exterior. The side facing outwards is transparent in order to take advantage of views, while the inward facing side is translucent to allow light to come through and maintain privacy.

Simplicity with a twist takes the typical vertical housing stack and presents a more elegant and pleasing effect with just a few simple gestures. The plan is set on a rigid 8’ and 16’ grid. In order to make the structure more porous, a void is left adjacent to the 4 corner units on each level, thus allowing the central circulation space to be spacious and filled with light. The plan on each level is resembled as a pinwheel configuration and is mirrored every other level to give a staggering effect. The two main entrances precede the staircases which
encourage the occupant to ascend and descend toward the voids on each level. In order to give the facade a more dynamicappearance,cantilevered triangular balconies extend from the facade. The balconies protrude 6’ and 12’ respectively and do not follow the main grid as these elements extend beyond the primary structure. Parking is concealed underneath the tower with the east and west sides of the site sloping upward. This provides a separation between vehicular and pedestrian traffic in and out of the site.

Structural Green Blocks is a proposed mixed use hybrid tower in the Journal Square neighborhood of Jersey City. Due to the high density of the building (one thousand units per acre), a market and conservatory for indoor farming at the base of the tower help feed the community living above and the residents nearby. A void cuts through the base of the tower in order to maintain sitelines for the historic
building directly east of the site. The tower is recessed towards the back of the property in order to maximize light coming from the south. Since Manhattan lies east of the site, and Newark and the Watchung mountains sit towards the west, every other block is rotated in order to take advantage of the views. Each block is a four story volume and the leftover space from the block below becomes greenspace;
thus providing a communal yard space for each block. In order to support the cantilevers and bridging that occurs at various moments, a long span diagnal truss system is used and expressed as part of the facade.

This propsed police station and community center in Perth Amboy, New Jersey is located at a very complex intersection of two streets and a major transit hub right behind the site. Smith Street is the main commercial corridor while Elm Street leads to smaller businesses and residential areas of the city. An organic “Y” shaped path is drawn through the site in order to connect these three sections together. From there, the overall footprint is established. Since the area has recently been designated as an Urban
Transit Corridor, an influx of commuters will be approaching the building from the rear side adjacent to the train. In order to accomodate an entrance close to the train platform, the embankment is removed and the site terraces up towards street level. In keeping with the terraced terrain of the site, masses are also subtracted from the building to create rooftop terraces. the overall program separates the private and public functions of the building with the private areas for the police contained within the South mass while public
functions are concentrated towards Smith Street.
