EXTENDED CARPETURBAN PLANNING OF LAHJAJMA’S SLUM. CASABLANCA
Many of spontaneous markets of fruits and vegetables punctuate the urban area of Casablanca. These markets pose enormous problems of unheal-thiness and convenience. This is the case of the Lahjajma market, on a communal plot of land, the area can be redeveloped to accommodate, in additi on to a modern market other projects of social and sporti ng faciliti es.
The fi rst scale is the fragment that consti tutes the neighboring unit. Public space slips between the houses and create a friendly area, also encourages interacti on between neighborhood while playing the role of the visual fi lter between the houses. The second level is the area, where public space is the link between the residenti al units. Finally, the pedestrian promenade that extends beyond the boundaries of the parcel meets the third level, the city.

To build a house for a family. To make a house for dreaming, living and dying. A house in which to live, rhink and reti re.
The house was divided into two disti nct parts, it is connected by a transpa-rent living and transiti on space, an inner world is created.
For living, the ground fl oor of the 2 volumes include day functi ons and give them a coherent space, we creates also multi ple transiti ons from an entry indoor to a transparent inside outdoor, towards a closed insidoor, and fi nally to an outdoor open to the sky.
For sleeping, the two houses are connected by a bridge suspended over a void, a metaphor of a human being taking a fl ight to reti re quietly to his room.

A DOCK MUSEUMDESIGN OF A CONTEMPORARY MUSEUM. CASABLANCA
The project relati ng to the museum was intended to develop a specifi c aspect of discreti on, the choice to place the museum in the heart of the industrial fabric of this district illustrates the intenti on of the museum to parti cipate in the transformati on of this area while retaining its rich indus-trial past.
The Project creates a dominant fortress by its landscape aspect, appea-rance of depth and confi nement. The museum is easily accessible from the site without it seems imposing. The idea brings to this museum the spirit of boats on a river meet to dock smoothly with each other. The facades are made of polished aluminum, which refl ects the park, ensuring conti nuity between the museum and its surrounding landscape. The roofs are parti ally made of glass, which refl ects a parti cular advantage to bring the light, both to exhibit works and to be able to convey the sky inside the building.

Natural light is controlled by means of a fi ltering device in the roof and the inte-rior shatt er forming the ceiling. Designed as a response to the vault, the surface retains its light in the change of seasons, ti mes.
The enti re 6,000 m2 s structure extends along 100m, The center of the museum hall is made of transparent glass and represents its beati ng heart; a wide space of interacti on and also other spaces for exhibiti on. The west lies the room for temporary and permanent exhibiti ons. The central foyer is designed as a large invisible space on two levels, buried deep in the site. This space will be dedica-ted to the public, but will also be used for storage and logisti cs functi ons of the museum. Two independent spaces of the museum will be the restaurant in the
east and a creati on studio in the west that will establish an entry points between the museum, the park and the city.

EARTH LINKING SKY REHABILITATION OF HOUSING BARS IN CASABLANCA
The subject is the future, it is about transform, densify and rehabilitate three buildings called «housing bars» at the heart of the metropole Casa-blanca without being able to demolish them, several sports faciliti es and residenti al programs punctuate the neighborhood.
Implanted in two directi ons and isolated, the project aims to consolidate the 3 housing bars by injecti ng several ameniti es such as sports educati on school annexed to the neighboring sports and other acti viti es to revive their souls and in the neighborhood as a whole. The structural capacity of the bars are a valuable starti ng point to improve the conditi ons of this exis-ti ng houses under the sake of general economy, the project is based on the choice of keeping up these architectural pieces, this approach allows the economy focus their eff orts on generous extensions that will signifi cantly and sustainably enhance the quality and size of appartments.

Casablanca has been developed massively this past century growing from 200 000 people in 1912 to more than 6 million people in 2013. Politi cians and architects were facing the problem of building shelters for the new comers. In 1956, one of the major operati ons of housing was designed by ATBAT AFRIQUE. Known as the laboratory of modern architecture, Casa-blanca has known since then dozens of social housing projects all as the same quality as the fi rst one done in the 50s (Nid d’abeille - Sémiramis).
Nowadays, Casablanca is sti ll seeking to remove all the slums, but the result is far away from what the habitants need today letti ng speculators and pro-moters gain more profi ts from this kind of housing by designing the mini-mum of what a house should be.
We tried to look at the history of housing for slums in Morocco in order to project problems and issues concerning this type of housing. House +39 is a combinati on of what we’ve tried to solve in term of adapti ve and fl exible spaces, connecti on with public spaces, the need of sun light and venti la-ti ons, and the budget of constructi on limit concern.
House+39 refere to the height of the housing

The Project looks like a frame trying to draw the morphology of the island and getti ng the views of potenti al site. The project is in three serpenti ne bars that draws a landscape in the heart of the island and putti ng in tension the private and the collecti ve spaces.
The residenti al blocks are formulated by the idea of layering and accumulati on, two concepts that refl ect the morphology of the old slum. A living area of 60 m² allowing an interesti ng shape and height of their architecture, programmati c composi-ti on has duplexes, apartment simple, and public spaces.
The houses are oriented East-West, an outside staircase leads to the corridors and the various apartments that are crossing. These circulati on areas, works as a fi lter, buff er areas between the public sphere and the private much more inti mate.

It makes no sense at all to occupy the desert without fi rst considering the problem of water. The Idea here is to use at fi rst a small quanti ty of water, drawn from under-ground, to irrigate plants then to recover it cycle aft er cycle, without loss. So we have imagined that a sealed greenhouse. It would do so by conde-sing moist air exhaled naturally by the breath or perspirati on of the plants.
Recycling waterFremen, in Dune (a Book by Frank Herbert - 1965) is a group that survives in dune desert by using waterproof clothes which recycle their water produced by their bodies: urine, sweat, exhaled air. Their bodies produced their own drinking water. Our installati on does the same thing.
Spati al RefrigeratorIt is an ancient principle, used since a long ti me to refrigerate water in hotcountries. Insoulate a pot of water of its surrounding. The water will exchange their warm with the most cold thing in the universe : the empty dark outer space at -270°C. (by thermal exchanges)
What do we need a refrigerator to recycle water?Plants exhale moist air, if you let this air go out in the atmosphere, you have lost your water, if you refrigerate it, you can recover the water in it by condensati on, and feed it again to the plants. Like the Fremen of Dune you have initi ated the recycling of the water and you can now live a long ti me in the desert.

A deep well holds the initial contribution of water.
The well is closed after use
Each plants is irrigated by its own pipe of condensed water
The greenhouse benefits from the low temperature of the ground.
The spatial refrigerator works by exchanging hot for cold air
Cold permits the condensation of the water in the Hot moist air
The tower houses dwellings and production rooms
made of heavy materials. So that it has a good thermal inertia
A membrane seals the green house so the moist air cannot
escapeHorizontal panels protect from the hot midday sun, it is possible to
add solar panels
Inside, the heat, humidity and light, are tropical
What can grow ?palm trees, bananas, mangos, tea,
vegetables...
Hot air is ejected by the spatial refrigerator
New air from outside isrefrigerated by circulating in pipes before entering the greenhouse
This water is recovered and given again to the greenhouse.
