ENGLISH LESSONSOur English Course is based on the communicative approach to learning English. Students are able to practise fluency skills through a variety of fun and stimulating activities. Lessons are enjoyable, interactive and are designed to help improve not only knowledge of English but also confidence in using the language.
STUDENT WELFARE & SUPERVISIONLessons: 1 EFL teacher per 15 studentsActivities: 1 Ardmore Activity leader per 20 studentsExcursions: 1 Ardmore staff member per 20 studentsResidences: 12 years and over - 1 adult per 20 students. Under 12 years - 1 adult per 15 studentsAll students will also have Foreign Group Leaders and Centre Management staff supervising them during all aspects of the course. We have dedicated Welfare staff to ensure students’ safety and supervision is our priority during their stay.

A TYPICAL DAY WITH ARDMOREStudents have three hours of English lessons per day from Monday to Friday. Lessons are divided into two parts:
Part One: Language input which involves using grammar and vocabulary in various tasks/exercises.
Part Two: Fluency/practice activities aimed at developing fluency through specific tasks like designing a website or poster, conducting a classroom survey or even producing/acting in a short play.
During activities we offer a wide range of sporting options to include: Football, Arts & Crafts, Dance, Tennis, Basketball, Wide Games etc.
Evening entertainment programme includes Talent Show, Disco, Quiz Nights, Film Nights, Sports Tournaments and many more options.
Emphasis on communication helps students to use English for a variety of purposes and in various situations. Our aim is to build students’ knowledge and confidence in understanding and speaking English.

California State University’s 175 acre hilltop campus is home to a body of 23,000 students. First founded in 1947 the University is located close to Los Angeles near the western San Gabriel Valley and has fantastic views of the mountains of the same name to the north.
The new $30million University-Student Union (U-SU) gives students a great place to interact with one another and also houses a theatre, fitness centre and numerous other student dedicated facilities and services. The U-SU is connected to ‘The Golden Eagle’ via a third floor bridge which has food courts, bookstore and conference facilities.
CSULA has six off campus residential halls which can house up to 3,600 students and two on-campus residential life complexes.

Performing Arts
Welcome to Ardmore’s English Plus Performing Arts Programme. Based at Saint Peter’s University, this programme is aimed at both groups and individuals wishing to learn and improve their English whilst experiencing a diverse range of acting and dance classes and exploring New York City’s most famous sights.
Students will be immersed in fun and challenging acting and dance classes taught by New York City performers. New York is the perfect location for this course with mid-town Manhattan being the home of the theatre district.
The bright lights of Broadway attract many talented aspiring performers. The students can experience the buzz and excitement that goes along with the New York performing arts scene.
The programme includes 15 hours of English lessons per week together with 12 hours of acting and dance classes. Students will have rehearsals in the evenings which will go towards putting on a performance at the end of their stay.
The fantastic excursion programme will include 1 full day and 1 half day excursion per week giving students a great opportunity to explore the vibrant city of New York!

San Diego State University is the largest and oldest higher education facility in San Diego County and was first founded in 1897. Then named San Diego Normal School it’s the third oldest University in California State with a student body of 35,000.
The University’s self contained campus is located right in the city centre but close enough to the beach for students to enjoy a typical Californian Summer. The great on-site facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, sports fields and even a ten pin bowling alley.
The original dormitory at Quetzal Hall housed just 40 students, today the University has high quality accommodation, between dorms and apartments, for a total of 4,107 students and dining options to suit all tastes.

During the programme, students will have the option of staying at Emmanuel College in Boston or at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Boston is one of the oldest and most historic cities in the United States making it a great setting for the Ivy League Tour with Harvard University just across the river. Students can also choose to be based at Yale University which is part of the Ivy League and experience the incredible academic atmosphere this institution has to offer.

A TYPICAL DAY WITH ARDMOREStudents have three hours of English lessons per day from Monday to Friday. Lessons are divided into two parts:
Part One: Language input which involves using grammar and vocabulary in various tasks/exercises.
Part Two: Fluency/practice activities aimed at developing fluency through specific tasks like designing a website or poster, conducting a classroom survey or even producing/acting in a short play.
During activities we offer a wide range of sporting options to include: Football, Arts & Crafts, Dance, Tennis, Basketball, Wide Games etc.
Evening entertainment programme includes Talent Show, Disco, Quiz Nights, Film Nights, Sports Tournaments and many more options.
Emphasis on communication helps students to use English for a variety of purposes and in various situations. Our aim is to build students’ knowledge and confidence in understanding and speaking English.

> Initial 10% deposit to be paid by end of February each year with a further 20% deposit due by 1st April for group bookings.

The Principal reserves the right to cancel the booking arrangements made if due payments have not reached the Principal’s UK bank account prior to the arrival of the group and/or individual/s. The Principal reserves the right to refuse admission to the accommodation and programme if full payment has not been received prior to arrival.

2. This brochure does not constitute a contract. Ardmore Language Schools has the right to change prices, starting dates, course content and programmes at any time due to errors, omissions and circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, you will be informed as soon as possible in writing. Where a major change is involved, a choice will be given of either accepting the change which will be of a comparative standard (if available), or rejecting it. If the latter applies, we will promptly refund all monies received.
3. All prices are shown for students under 18 years of age. An adult supplement will be applicable for participants aged 18 and over.
Full payment must be received no later than 4 weeks prior to the course start date. If this is not received, the booking is NOT confirmed.

4. Ardmore Language Schools reserves the right to cancel all arrangements and bookings without prior notice if these conditions are not met.
5. In the event of a group decreasing in size after the price has been set and agreed, Ardmore Language Schools may alter the price accordingly and the agent will be informed.
6. In the event of a group number increasing in size, all services for those persons must be paid for immediately upon arrival. Group option numbers must NOT increase without prior agreement of Ardmore Language Schools Head Office.

7. CANCELLATIONCOSTS: Notification of cancellation 6 weeks before travel date:

8. For host family stays, Ardmore Language Schools acts as an agent and the families are arranged by well respected Local Organisers.
9. If war or terrorist activities, threatened or actual, civil unrest, closure or congestion of airports or ports, riot, cancellation or changes of scheduled airlines, industrial action, threatened or actual natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, pestilence, quarantine controls, host family cancellations or any other event outside the control of the company either delays, extends the stay, compels a change in the programme or accommodation arrangements or forces the programme to be cancelled, ArdmoreLanguageSchoolscannotacceptliabilityforanyresultingloss,damageorexpense.
10. Behaviour– any student who commits a criminal offence, has to be severely disciplined during the course, exhibits anti-social behaviour or has a poor attendance record may be expelled and asked to return home immediately at the parents’ expense. No refunds will be made.
11. Students / groups will be charged for any damage they cause during their stay.
12. Marketing – Photographs taken of students during their course may be used for marketing purposes by Ardmore Language Schools. If you do not wish photos of students to be used, you must advise us in writing before travel to the UK, USA or Canada.
13. Medical information – all allergies, special dietary requirements and medical information must be provided to Ardmore Language Schools in writing prior to each student’s arrival. Permission to swim must be confirmed in writing.
• INSURANCE Insurance – it is mandatory that full insurance cover is
arranged for all participating students and group leaders before departure from their home country and we require confirmation in writing that this cover is in place.
We are able to offer insurance, if requested. Our UK policy with Endsleigh Insurance offers the following cover (a summary as follows):
