In addition to reporting to entire congregations, on several occasions I had the opportunity to teach a Bible lesson to children’s groups using animal puppets. Last Sunday I had lunch with two single, young ladies. They have just graduated from college and are interested in missions. I so enjoyed answering their questions and sharing my experiences as a single, lady missionary. In each church I visited, I was warmly received. The kind hospitality shown towards me has been such a blessing and an encouragement. The motel rooms, mission houses, prophet’s chambers, and guest rooms in the homes of friends have each been an oasis; and the food has all been simply delicious! It was wonderful to visit again with old friends as well as to make new ones. Thank you so very much for your wonderful hospitality and generosity. Many have asked about the earthquake and tsunami that hit Palu and the surrounding area in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. We do not have any churches or missions in this area. There were some Christians affected by the disaster and a church destroyed, but the majority of people affected were Muslims. Missionaries in the area with New Tribes Missions have been evacuated to another location and are all safe. The death toll at this time stands at over 1,300 with many more injured and over 70,000 displaced. Many of the roads were destroyed so it is difficult for the government to send in aid. Please pray for the people of Central Sulawesi. I am looking forward to visiting with many of you in the weeks and months ahead. Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support. Please continue to pray for safety as I travel, and that I can be a blessing to the churches I visit. His for Indonesia, Karen L.
