1 Introduction

The following screenshots show the procedure and results of exporting a file in the ArchiMate® 3.0 Model

Exchange File Format from ARIS 10.0.6 and importing it into Archi 4.3. The content to be exported from

ARIS has been imported before from the sample file which is available at the following location:

The imported views as shown in the screenshots have not been altered manually in any way after the import

in Archi was done.

2 Starting the Export in ARIS

The export is started in ARIS Architect from a selection of models.

3 Export Wizard – First Page

After invoking the action to export an ArchiMate® 3 file, the export wizard is displayed. On the first page of

the wizard the name and location of the output file can be specified.

4 Export Wizard – Second Page

On the second page of the wizard the languages to be exported can be selected.

5 Export Wizard – Third Page

On the third page of the wizard settings regarding the assignment and connection levels can be made. It is

also possible to select the version of the file format – either ArchiMate® 2 or ArchiMate

® 3. With the final op-

tion, the export of organizations can be controlled.

The export is done with all assignment and connection levels, in the ArchiMate® 3 format and including or-

ganizations.

6 Starting the Import in Archi

In Archi the import can be started from the file menu.

The file which has been exported from ARIS before is selected.

After the import is done, the organization structure and views which were visible in the first screenshot of

ARIS are now visible in Archi as well.
