Located in the SYBIL B. HARRINGTON GALLERIES

OUR 2017 IMPACT AT A GLANCE

500,000 students, teachers and families are inspired, educated and engaged with the Center and our science education programs each year.

Guests spend 1.1M hours per year interacting with the Center’s hands-on exhibits across 4 levels.

Our outreach vans drove over 25,000 miles to deliver 1,500 programs throughout the state.

57,674 students and teachers dove into science topics like comparative anatomy, biology, coding and engineering through participation in a Science on Wheels outreach program.

104,000 K-12 students visited on a field trip for an awe-inspiring science adventure.

46% were Title I students who visited as part of our FREE Field Trips program.

10,415 adults were “wow-ed” by our signature Science with a Twist and Laser & Liquors adult engagement programs.

178 girls in grades 4–8 engaged with other girls and female mentors for a full day of hands-on learning and career insight through our annual Girls in STEM event.

71,000 guests were transported to outer space on an adventure in our Dorrance Planetarium.

282,000 students were inspired by these teachers during the 2016–2017 school year.

5,222 Arizona Educators enhanced their confidence and competence in STEM teaching methods through Arizona Science Center mentoring and training programs.

30,000 guests imagined, designed and built objects in CREATE at Arizona Science Center® using laser cutters, 3D printers and routers.

28,580 feet of filament used in our 3D printers.

AzSEF winners went on to receive $49,750 in
