also known as Sam Shaw.
Arkaic also known as Sam Shaw. Genre of music is Hip Hop or Rap. Born and raised in Haringay, North London. He developed his love for Hip-Hop just before moving to Norwich as a
teenager. Here he practised the craft of lyricism within the confines of his bedroom before attending his first open mic at age 16.
At the age of 18 he started MC Battles at a local Norwich Nightclub before moving on to the Street Battles in London for JumpOff.TV.
In 2007 he won the UK division of the World Rap Championships. 2008 saw the release of his first mixtape with fellow Norwich MC
Tleevz. Arkaic has performed alongside such artists as Sway, Bashy, Ghetto, Skepta, Tinie Tempah, Immortal Technique, Joel Ortiz and Diabolic.
Now fully focused on music we're looking to take the scene by storm! GET ME!'
Sam decided on the name Arkaic as itrelates to the old Art form Archaic.
Music is has been around for years andSam wanted to bring it back into the21st Century and “Ghetto” it up a bit
and add a few “K’s and C’s!”
MySpace is a great way ofconnecting with his target
audience, but by alsocreating a page that can beeasily updated with Music,Info, Tour Dates and so on.MySpace is a very popularnetworking site for musiclovers, so Sam is going totarget the right people and
promote himself through this.
All of Arkaic’s MC Battlesare all featured on YouTube. Ithink Sam has got a real talent
for MC’ing, I am fascinatedwith what he does! When heMC’s he shows a real passionfor what he is doing, which
you can see in both the screenshots to the right.
Arkaic also has a Facebook, Twitter and Bebo site too.
These are a great way ofpromoting and
communicating with histarget audience, with an easy
way of updating his twopages with the latest info. To
the left are three screenshots of these.
Arkaic doesn’t actually rehearse, he can rapof the top of his head, that’s why he was good in the
Battles. When he creates a track, he goes to astudio in London and creates the beats for the track
and then comes up with the lyrics to go with it.Normally it takes about 5+ hours in the studio, for
the beats to be made, lyrics to be created and thenfor it to be recorded.
