MACRO Industries, Inc. has been developing custom armor products since the late 1990’s. MACRO fielded numerous armor systems for the US Army, US Air Force, and US Navy. Past contracts included armor development, production, installation, and sustainment activities direct to government program offices as well as commercial aircraft prime contractors:

OH-58D Kiowa Observation & Reconnaissance Helicopter – MACRO developed, qualified, and delivered 400+ kits of unit-level repairable ceramic-composite armor for the US Army.

IA-407 Multi-Purpose Utility Helicopter – MACRO qualified a new ceramic-composite configuration and developed the attachment system, structural substantiation, and work instructions necessary to install armor on a commercial assembly line modifying the Bell 407 for military use.

Mil Mi-17 Transport Helicopter – MACRO designed and qualified a dual-configuration, field-modifiable armor system to fit three variants of the foreign designed and produced Mi-17.

KC-46 Pegasus Air-to-Air Tanker – MACRO was chosen in a competitive procurement by Boeing to develop, qualify armor to be installed on the assembly line for the KC-46.

C-130H Hercules Military Transport Aircraft – MACRO was chosen in a competitive procurement by the USAF to develop a light-weight armor replacement for the C-130H and its Avionics Modernization Program (AMP) variant. MACRO developed the armor kit, attachment system, structural substantiation, technical manuals, and work instructions necessary to retrofit existing aircraft with armor. MACRO also installed the armor system, modifying four aircraft, to demonstrate installation and documentation. Delivery of production armor kits began in early 2016.

HH-60W Combat Rescue Helicopter – MACRO was chosen in a competitive procurement by Sikorsky to develop armor to be installed on the HH-60W commercial production line.

Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) – MACRO was selected by the US Navy to build a new ceramic-composite armor for the LCAC.
