Principal briefed him about the

functioning and the achievements of

the school. A round of school was also

conducted. The Chairman commended

ENVIRONMENT DAY WEEK ( 3 JULY TO 7 JULY 2017 )

World Environment Day is the United Nations’ most

important day for encouraging world wide awareness and

action for the protection of our environment .

‘Environment Day Week’ was celebrated in our school from

3 July - 7 July 2017.The students participated with a lot of zeal

and enthusiasm. Various activities were conducted on

environment awareness like poster making, slogan

writing, skit, cleanliness and tree plantation drive. It gave our

students an opportunity to share their ideas and activities for

making our world cleaner, greener and brighter.

PETROLEUM CONSERVATION RESEARCH ASSOCIATION (PCRA) QUIZ

PCRA English and Hindi Essay Writing and Science online Quiz competition was conducted in

the month of Aug 2017.Total 30 students participated in the competition. One student of

class VIII received silver medal & five received bronze medals in Science Online Quiz

respectively on 5 Aug 17 , 26 Aug 17 &

16 Sept 2017. Papers and Report Cards of

Evaluation I & Unit Test-I were shown &

performance of wards was discussed with

their parents.

Maximum parents attended the Open

House. The meeting concluded with a

healthy interaction between teachers and

parents and the school received a lot of

positive feed back. Effort & hard work of

teachers was appreciated by the parents.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY (4 th August 2017) Army Public School Khadakwasla conducted its Investiture Ceremony on 4 th Aug 2017.

Brig Zubin A Minwalla, YSM ,Brig Adm HQ NDA & Chairman APS Khadakwasla was the

chief guest for the occasion. The ceremony started with a welcome speech followed by

review of parade & piping ceremony by the Chief guest, Principal & Housemistresses.

The oath taking ceremony was administered by the Chief Guest wherein newly

appointed School Cabinet members pledged to perform their duties with utmost

sincerity, grit ,determination & enthusiasm .

INTER SCHOOL COMPETITIONS

The students of APS Khadakwasla participated in various cluster level competitions

which included quiz competition held at APS Dighi, English and Hindi debate at APS

Pune. Children participated with lot of zeal and enthusiasm . The students also

participated in Interschool Logical Reasoning Quiz Competition held in Kalyani School

in which they stood 24 th among 40 participating schools.

Independence Day was celebrated with lot of zeal and spirit befitting the

occasion. Col Mukul Chadha and Mrs Bandini Chadha graced the

occasion respectively as the chief Guest & Guest of Honour. The

programme started with unfurling the Indian Tricolor in the school field

followed by a short cultural programme comprising patriotic song, skit

on corruption and a patriotic dance. Later the children were felicitated

for academic excellence for the year 2016-17.The chief guest

congratulated the students for the wonderful show and motivated them

to be aware citizens .The event concluded with an inspirational speech

by the Principal which evoked the true spirit of nationalism.


SADBHAVANA DIWAS (23 rd AUG 2017)

Sadbhawana Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of class I

and II. The theme was Happy to help .Children showed their gratitude towards helping

hands of the school ie the support staff in the form of speeches ,poems and dances.

The students depicted their creativity by handing over hand made cards to them and

also exhibited their gratitude by distributing dry ration. The support staff was indeed

overwhelmed by this kind gratitude of students and efforts of students was well

appreciated by the Head of the Institution.

A comprehensive Health Checkup in respect

of all students at APS Khadakwasla was

conducted from 29 Aug to 2 Sept 2017.

MEDICAL CHECK UP

BLOOM’S TAXONOMY WORKSHOP A workshop on Bloom’s Taxonomy was conducted

by Ms Dhawani Kotak, & Ritu Ghatnekar on 19 th

Aug 17 and Ms Ritu Kumari and Ms Jyoti Singh on

26 th Aug 2017.They emphasised on the basic

principles of Bloom’s Taxonomy . The Principal

concluded the workshop by encouraging the

teachers to keep in mind cognitive, affective and psychomotor domain of

the students during planning , teaching & assessing .

A mock safety drill was conducted for students in the school playground. A representative from fire fighting section discussed the different measures that can be adopted to prevent/ control fire hazards. He specifically mentioned about 5 inflammable materials viz solid (wood), liquid, gaseous, electrical and metal. The students were briefed about different safety measures and methods to extinguish fire that can be undertaken in case of an emergency .Use of ABC fire extinguishers was demonstrated and queries of stu-dents were answered in an interactive session after the demo fire drill.

FIRE SAFETY DRILL(4 th Sept 2017)

HINDI SAPTAH (4 th—8 th Sept 2017) “Hindi Saptah” was celebrated in the school from 4th Sept to 8th Sept .Various activities were conducted during this week like Inter House story telling competition, role play and creative writing . Students participated in all the activities with great enthusiasm and performed well .

TEACHERS DAY (5 th Sept 2017) “Let us remember :One book,one pen,one child

and one teacher can change the world” - Malala

Yousafzai .Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great

pomp and gaiety at APS Khadakwasla.Students of

class IX and X expressed their respect and

gratitude by performimg a short entertainment

programme.The programme consisted of funfilled

activities like song, dance and skit. Post

celebrations in school with the students, special

programme was organized exclusively for the

teachers at Naval Experimental Bay. Teachers had

fun time with games ,music and dance in a green

and serene ambience.

The school had its 5th Annual Adm and Technical Inspection on

15th Sept 2017. The inspecting team comprised Brig Mukul

Bhandari, DPM, HQ Southern Command as Chief Inspector,

Col Manoj Chaturvedi, HQ, 330 Inf Bde & Mrs. Shraddha Sudame

Principal, APS Dighi as members. A special assembly on World

Democracy Day was conducted . The chief Inspector was happy to

see the growth of the school to impressive standards and wished it

further progress in all its endeavours.

PARENTAL COUNSELLING ON SAFETY AND SECURITY ISSUES (16 th SEPT)

The Principal addressed the parents regarding safety and security measures to be taken into account right from the time their wards leave home till the time they come back after school. She highlighted the areas of concern and solicited parental cooperation in making the school safe and secure place for all the students.The initiative was well appreciated by all parents who promised to extend all cooperation .
