Battery, Dry-Cell Field Battery (c.1940), black metal case with cast aluminum at each end on top
with a rope handle. There are 2 spark plugs in an added box on one end that
protrude from the side of the battery. There are 2 ampmeters at one end. The
battery is mounted on a wooden backpack frame with canvass laced together
with cotton rope through brass gromets and white adjustable canvas straps. A
label on top reads "Sharpe instuments Ltd. Toronto Canada Model EM-A, Type
SE100, Cycle 1200, Serial 132".

inscription " Presented by the Canadian Bible Society (British and Foreign Bible
Society) to the Canadian Soldiers in the War of 1914 "Be Strong and of a Good
Courage". Printed in London, British and Foregn Bible Society 146 Queen St
Victoria Street, 1918. Printed at the University Press, Oxford. These Bibles were
awarded to soldiers in the First world War. On the inside of the back flap is a
caption written in pencil. "Miss Dora Buder, Box 573, Arnprior Ontario, 37
Edward St., February 14, 1937".

List of Available Items 2014-08-07Book Book on education "The Improvement of the Mind" by Isaac Watts D.D.. (1674-
1748). Published in London by J.S. Pratt in MDCCCXLIII (1843). Captioned as a
discourse on the education of children and youth. The book consists of 416
pages divided into 2 parts, each with several chapters. The book is missing the
front cover. Watts was more noted as a Pastor in the "Dissenter's" religion (Not
the Church of England) and a writer and chronicler of Protestant hymns. Many
of his hymns and religious songs became standards in the Southern African
American churches. He was also known as a "Logician" and wrote several
books on memory, thinking process and logic.

bottom. The top is a friction fit with a 2" screw cap in the center.. There is a
gauge near the bottom graduated to 3, likely quarts, with a glass panel to view
to contents. The whole can has been painted, obscuring the glass and seizing
the lids. There is a wire handle with a red wooden grip.

Candlestand One of two chrome plated candlestand for use in a funeral parlour or church.
Sexagonal raised base with a 1" foot at each corner. Ornate work on the base
and the bottom part of the column. The column is made up of 5 segments with
the middle part containing two female profiles and two gargoyls. The top portion
is ornate leading to the actual candle holder. The candle holder differs from 44B
as this is taller. One of the pair appears to have been substituted at some point.
Under the base, barely legible printing indicates "ARTS SPECIALTY MFG. 1115
N. FRANKLIN, CHICAGO" " #112" is printed on the opposite side.

chair has a very heavy round metal base, white with brown spackel. In the base,
there is a locking bar, a release pedal to lower the chair and an oval bar which

are levers which allow the back to be reclined.

Flatiron Mechanical handle with a lever that operates a clamp which mated to a an iron.
Wooden grip protected the user from the heat. Used in conjunction with several
"sadirons" which were heavy triangular metal blocks which were heated on a
stove. When the iron being used became cool, it was detached from the handle
by working the lever and deposited on the stove. A second, hot iron was picked
up while the first one was re-heating so there was no break in the ironing
process. In other situations, each iron was complete with its own insulated
handle.

has a large "I H S" around a center cross.

Cutlers of Sheffield. Each peice has a buckhorn or antler handle. This piece is

Razor, Safety Portable safety razor in leather case. On the front of the black case in white
underlined script is "Dainty". Inside the small case is a small safety razor
consisting of three pieces disassembled. The upper plate has a threaded stud
and two posts that insert through three corresponding holes in the lower plate.
The metal handle then screws onto the threaded post to hold the two plates
together with the disposable blade held between. There is a threaded post on
the male end of the handle which would indicate that there should be a fourth
piece which would extend the handle to make the item easier to use. There are
four unused blades in the case in individual packages. There are three
"Laminor" packages which have "Laminor" on the front in large white print on a
orange background. Beneath the name is Dèposè in small blue print and
beneath that in larger white print on a blue background is La Lame Qui Rase Le
Plus Près. On the back of the packages is a schroled pattern in blue on a white
background. The fourth blade is in a package "The LAUREL BLADE". Between
the two words is a logo roughly in the shape of a dumbell with very small script
"DUM-BELL Reg'd Design & Trade Mark". On either end in small vertical print is
"Made in - Sheffield England". On the back of the package is "THE "LAUREL"
DUMB-BELL BLADE IS DESIGNED TO FIT THE NEW IMPROVED "LAUREL"
RAZOR, ALSO THE ORIGINAL 3 PEG "LAUREL" RAZOR" in black type on a
yellow background.

Rosary Rosary Beads mounted on a small silver chain. Two sections. One is a circular
chain which could be worn around the neck with five sections of 10 round
wooden beads separated by four slightly larger wooden beads each with a
carved circle on each of four sides. Each carved circle has a raised point in the
centre. The circles appear to have been white originally. The circular chain is
closed by a small silver pendant with 3 holes, two of which close the circle and a
third attaches a silver chain on which 2 of the beads with circles are at the top
and bottom with 3 of the plain round beads in between. At the bottom end of the
single chain is a silver crusefix with an etched image of Christ on one side and
Mary on the reverse along with other etched symbols.

Vulcanized Hard Fibre". When opened it has 7 hangars and 4 drawers with a
blue floral pattern. There are also 2 wooden blocks inside. The handwritten tag
attached to the top habdle reads " Mrs. W. A. Carmichael, Breaside, Ont."

List of Available Items 2014-08-07Trunk Large arch-top steamer trunk. Exterior is covered with tin with 2 14" wooden
lathes running lengthwise as bumpers. Two metal hinges and three latches, with
the center one lockable, hold the top. There is no key. The original leather
handles on each end are missing and replaced by ropes. The interior is wood
and the bottom has split. There is a frame to support the upper shelf that is
missing. The top originaly contained a compartment. The lid is missing. There is
a business card attached to the inside of the top that seems to indicate a former
owner. " W. BARR CHEMIST AND STATIONER TELEGRAPH OPERATOR
AND CONVEYANCER" On the card is also "Commissioner in B. R.,
ACCOUNTANT AND MUNICIPAL AUDITOR, NEWSPAPER
CORRESPONDENT, and member of the Ontario Colledge of Pharmacy.
