Ultradur® B1520 FC: The product of choice for single layer aroma sealed packagingInjection molded Ultradur® capsules are made of just one single material layer instead of using multi layer fi lms as commonly used in thermoset processes to produce aroma barrier capsules. In contrast to injection molded polypropylene versions the well-balanced barrier properties against moisture and oxygen makes a secondary packaging redundant.

Capsul’in®Barrier, the new capsules made of Ultradur® offered by Equity Holding S.A, have successfully been launched in Europe, Australia and South America. Thanks to Equity Holding’s S.A. know-how and its expertise in injection processes of Ultradur®, Capsul’in®Barrier meet high standards in terms of dimensional stability and compressive strength. And yet, thanks to the high stiffness of Ultradur®, the capsule walls can be very thin which is a prerequisite for economic and ecological production. The easy-fl owing Ultradur® variant also exhibits the classic advantages of a thermoplastic PBT material: not only stiffness, but also strength, thermal stability, and chemical resistance. Thanks to its food-contact certifi cation, this new grade is suitable not only for coffee capsules but also for other thin-walled injection-molded packaging for cosmetics and food products.
