www.pannell.com.au Aromatico 2019 Aromatico is a blend of Adelaide Hills Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. The name is taken from one of the many synonyms for the Gewürztraminer grape believed to originate in the Alto Adige area of Northern Italy near the town of Tramin, where it is known as Traminer Aromatico. Stephen had long wanted to make a Gewürztraminer-based wine because of its unrivalled aromatic qualities. It is, however, a low-acid variety requiring the support of Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc to create a balanced and flavoursome wine with natural acidity. A reverse-engineered wine that suits how we live and what we eat, especially spicy Asian food! VINTAGE A winemaker’s vintage with every scrap of experience tested and measured. Lower than average winter rainfall set up for a dry growing season resulting in dramatically reduced yields. The Adelaide Hills was most effected with some varieties down by 50%. In low yield years acidity is generally good setting the resulting wines up for stability and long lives. WINEMAKING FOR THE SENSES CELLARING This wine is ready to drink now while it is bright, flavoursome and fragrant. SERVING Best served with strongly flavoured Asian food particularly Thai, Schezuan or Vietnamese. Variety 70% Gewürztraminer, 23% Riesling, 7% Sauvignon Blanc Varietal Origin Gewürztraminer - Italy, Riesling - Germany, Sauvignon Blanc - France Vineyard Woodside, Lenswood, Macclesfield Process Hand harvested, blended as juice, and co-fermented to enhance the marriage of the three varieties. Alcohol 13.5% Ph 3.40 TA 5.80 Flavour Profile Lychee, rose water, tropical fruit and flowers, cinnamon and nutmeg spice. Structure & Texture Light to medium bodied, juicy with immediate attack and energy. The varieties are perfectly integrated and the small amount of residual sugar balances and sustains the finish.
