Step 1: Start with a square piece of paper, printed-side down (with ‘top flip’ on the corner furthest away).

Step 6: To mimic what we did earlier, lift the left flap up and open it from the left and right sides. Crease the sides down so its corner can meet the bottom corner of the figure.

Step 2: Fold the paper in half by folding the top corner to the bottom corner.

Step 3: Now fold the triangle in half by taking the left corner and folding it to the right.

Step 4: Open the top flap and spread then crease the left and right sides so you can flatten the flap down to meet at the bottom corner.

Step 7: Take the top layers of both sides and fold them to meet the centre line like you see in the picture.

Step 8: Now fold the top triangle down.

Step 9: Unfold the top triangle and both sides.

Step 5: Turn the paper over so we can do the same thing to the other side.

Step 10: Open the top layer and using the creases as a guide…

...fold the left and right sides in to meet at the centre.

Step 16: Take the left and right sides of the top layer and fold it in to meet at the centre.

Step 11: Turn the figure over so we can do the same to the other side.

Step 17: Turn the figure over and do the same thing to this side, folding the left and right sides in to the centre.

Step 12: Fold the left and right sides to meet at the centre, then unfold. Step 18: Now we'll make the

wings. Pull out the right flap from inside the figure and twist it. Make sure to twist the rear side upwards.

Step 13: Lift the top layer up all the way and using the creases as a guide, fold the left and right sides in to meet at the center.

Step 19: Make the wings for the left side also.

Step 14: Now fold that layer back down.

Step 20: To make the head, fold a portion of the top triangle down, but make sure not to fold it down past the corner where the flaps meet.

Step 15: Turn the paper over and fold that layer down also.

Step 21: Then fold most of it up again. Notice I did not entirely unfold, but kept 1/4th of it down and folded only 3/4ths of it back up.

Step 22: Now fold the whole triangle down including that 1/4th piece.

Step 26: Using scissor cut ONLY the top layer of the back of the head. Cut at an angle from the side of the head to the centre up top.

Step 23: For the feet, we're going to need scissors. Take the bottom of the top layer and do a small cut up the middle.

Step 27: Cut both sides. Once you're done cutting, it should look like this.

Step 24: Fold the newly created flaps up.

Step 28: Then simply fold the "ears" up.

Step 25: Turn the owl over so we can begin forming the "ears".

Step 29: Turn it over and you've just completed the origami owl.
