The Model 850 Investigator’s Aid isa ruggedly constructed gas detectionand field survey tool. This unit willdetect the presence of hydrocarbonsthat may be present at the fire sceneand is equally effective as a generalpurpose gas detector.
Operation: Turn unit ON and extendthe telescoping sensor probe. Allowseveral minutes for warm up and scanarea of concern. If a hydrocarbon ispresent, a deflection of the meter willoccur, followed by a series of beeptones in synchronism with twoindicator lights (Red LEDs). TheModel 850 is equipped with a Highand Low Sensitivity range. HighSensitivity permits detection ofextremely small amounts ofhydrocarbons. Low Sensitivitypermits meter indication in areas ofhigh concentration, which aids inpinpointing the source. The Model850 telescoping sensor probe permitseasy access into hard to reach areas. An optional 10’ extension cord for thesensor is available. This extensioncord is useful for lowering intoinspection pipes and other confinedspaces.
FEATURES:
Two Modes of Operation - High orLow Sensitivity.

Model C & Model C+For Arson Investigationand General Purpose
Hydrocarbon Detection
The Model C and Model C+ arehighly sensitive hydrocarbondetectors with similar features. Bothmodels easily detect fuel oilconcentrations of less than 200 ppmor gas leaks of less than one cubic footper year.
The Model C is a non-calibrateddetector used primarily for arsoninvestigation and where it is desirableto detect trace amounts ofhydrocarbons.

Displays - Audio and visualindication of the detection ofaccelerants and gases. A Green“Ready” Indicator, Yellow “Purge”Indicator and Red “Sensor /Detection” Indicators.
Electronic Purge - Permits quickrecovery of sensor element.
Mute Switch - Turns off audio tonesand permits discreet investigation.
Coiled Sensor Cord - Easy to extendand automatically retracts.
Power - Nickel Cadmiumrechargeable batteries with 6 to 7hours of use.

Applications - Arson Investigation,Leak detection, General purpose gasdetection.
Made in the U.S.A.
Operation: Turn unit ON, allowseveral minutes for warm up, andthen scan area of concern. When gasor a hydrocarbon is present, beeptones in synchronism with a redindicator light will occur. A slow beeprate indicates a small amount of gasor accelerant, whereas a more rapidrate indicates a higher gasconcentration. A mute switch isprovided to silence the audio tonesand an electronic purge permits rapidrecovery of the sensor.

Adjustable Sensitivity - Highersensitivity is used to locate traceamounts of hydrocarbons. Lowersensitivity aids in pinpointing thesource in areas of high concentration.
Sensor - Solid state plug in type, housed in a protective guard, mounted at end of 6 foot coiledsensor cord.
The Model C+ features both a HighSensitivity and Calibrated mode ofoperation. Model C+ is used when itis desirable to know if a gas isexplosive. In the “Calibrated Mode”,the detector will only annunciate if agas has exceeded a preset level, 20%of the lower explosive limit (methaneused as test gas).

HAZ-ALERT is a small, lightweightgas alarm (temperature alarm optional)that detects 125 toxic/combustible gasesor vapors and sounds an alarm if any arepresent. The automatic temperaturesensor sounds an alarm (Model 100Tonly) if the wearer is exposed to excesstemperature. The Emergency Call forHelp Alarm is activated by pressing thebutton located on the front of the case.
OPERATION: Simultaneouslysqueeze both side buttons to turn unitON. The green “ready light” will glowindicating the gas sensor is operational. The HAZ-ALERT has three distinctaudio tones to distinguish each alarmcondition. If gas is detected, a harshbuzzing sound is heard. When theemergency call for help alarm isactivated a loud (95 dBA) sweepingaudio tone will be heard. A pulsed toneis observed if the environmentaltemperature rises above 120 degreesFahrenheit. The HAZ-ALERT hasmany applications. It may be attachedto a line and lowered into manholes, storage tanks or other confined spaces.A HAZ-ALERT may be worn as apersonal monitor when working inconfined spaces and is useful as asignaling device in emergency situationsby activating the emergency call alarm.
FEATURES:
Detects Approx. 125 toxic/combustiblegases and hydrocarbons - including allheating gases. Haz-Alert is factorycalibrated to 10% LEL (lower explosivelimit) of Methane.
Sensor - Solid state broad-bandpermanent MOS type, will provideyears of service.
Temperature sensor (Model 100Tonly) - Permanent type, precision solid-state temperature sensor, sounds alarmif user is exposed to excess temperature.Temperature Alarm response thresholdis adjustable.
Displays - Audio and visual indicationof the detection of accelerants andgases. A Green “Ready” Indicator andRed “Sensor / Detection” Indicator.
Made in U.S.A
Emergency Call for Help - is activatedby pressing the button located on the frontof the case. This action provides a loud(95 dBA) series of audio tones.
Power - Two “AA” size alkaline batteries(disposable), providing 5 hours ofcontinuous use.
Housing - Small, lightweight, rugged,heavy duty plastic case, 2" wide x 3-3/4"high x 1-1/8" deep, weight 8 oz.
