Line and Emotion

Take a new piece of paper and coloured pencils or textas.Experiment with these to create lines conveying your

emotions. For example you could draw red sharp angled lines to

show anger.

Or blue horizontal lines to create peace and calm.

Try using other colours and lines to make other feelings. Draw curved lines, sharp angles, broken lines, continuous lines

Try these

exercises

Vary the thickness of

your lines.

Try using different

pencils 2B, 4B, 6B

and vary the pressure

you put on the pencil.

Use other mediums,

pastels,crayons or

paints to experiment

with line.

Different lines for different effects.

Pastels are great for

experimenting with.
