we are here again with the fourth and the final for this year issue of „Art Manager 7” Magazine. we won’t make balances inherent for the end

of the year because it is too early for us to make them, but instead of it we will allow ourselves the luxury to make wishes, to believe and to dream for the foreseeable and for more distant future. this time we’ve messed up for you again an unconventional and intriguing cocktail of beauty, style, inspirations and creative impulses. while we were preparing it we felt intoxicated by its expressive aroma and innovative taste. we believe that you will love and enjoy it properly during the long festive holiday that awaits us. in this issue of „Art Manager 7“ you will make a trip to a beautiful Australia and will experience the essence of the talented Bulgarian woman. you will feel the spirit of the holiday too with the magic of the snowflakes and their natural elegance.

The name of Alexey Kljatov became a sensation around the unique macro photography of snowflakes, which he managed to shoot on his own balcony with advanced camera by his own hands. You can find his impressive creations on Flickr, where he has an account with the strange but memorable name „Chaotic Mind“. How much chaotic are his ideas for the best way to make innovative photography we will learn personally by himself in his exclusive interview, which he had given away especially for the readers of the „Art Manager 7” magazine.

How you get the idea to advance your camera to make all these unique pics of the snowflakes?this is a widely used technique. for shooting macro photography is used a reverse lens macro. this technique of work was described in many professional sources. because i have several lenses of old film cameras „zenith“, i decided trying to use them to focus the image by simply holding my hand in front of the camera lens. it worked perfectly at the first attempt. the zoom was significantly more than that of the standard macro mode; chromatic aberration was surprisingly low, and the sharpness even in the corners of the frame was much better than could be expected to be by the combination of two lenses, which are not designed to work together. even the auto focus of my camera works well regardless of the changes i made in its optics. in that state, with the lens „helios 44m-5” placed in front of the camera i even managed to shoot some insects but it was too uncomfortable for work, so i came up to idea and applied that pretty simple design. i took a board with a length of about 30 cm, i mounted on

it inverted „helios“(the back of the lens to the snowflakes and the front to the camera), i’ve drilled on the board bolt hole to enter into the tripod socket on the camera. i put the camera on the board in a way that when the zoom is maximum extended the lens to touch the „helios“ and to „watch“ in the front lens. i made some additional improvements and things

worked out much better. the design proved itself to be quite stable; it remains upright even in downward lens. i just put it on the glass above the selected snowflake and shoot at the maximum optical zoom instead of the macro. i am convinced that a good photographer greatly increases his chances for making unique photos if he has technical

skills and abilities. my innovative approach and the improvements of my camera have helped me to realize the unique shots of the snowflakes which had widely promoted my work as a photographer.

when did you get started working in photography?it wasn’t long ago - before 10-11 years. it was around

the time when had appeared generally the available compact digital cameras. my first camera was with a very good for its time a macro lens. the following cameras i’ve selected based on their wealth of manual settings even when it comes to cheap models, as well as for the lack of any obvious disadvantages in them. later came the alternative program chDK, which means “canon hacker‘s Development Kit” for amateurs. i think there isn’t any better alternative to this set. the camera with chDK possesses such characteristics which have neither mass compact models nor even the far more professional slr models. the most - important and necessary function of chDK for the photographer is the ability to make rAW records. Without this function it is quite difficult for me to imagine my work as a photographer. of course this set has other important and useful functions which help me to make memorable picks.

How did inspire you the snowflakes, which you’ve sealed in your unique photographs?the snowflakes are unique on their own way. they are not like any other objects that may become the subject of macro photography. using the significant zoom they become more - interesting. the most common large sized snowflakes can be examined in details by anyone even with the naked eye. but the most extraordinary and astonishing forms we can find among the snowflakes with medium and small size - those between 1 mm and 4 mm. the diversity of forms there is quite impressive. When i look uttermost forms of snowflakes and their incredible diversity, it fills me with reverence and respect for mother nature!

which is your favorite subject for photographing? i currently work in three main areas: macro photographs of snowflakes in the winter and of

insects in the warmer months of the year; and hDr photography which means high dynamic range photography in which the main objects i capture are mainly nocturnal urban landscapes and still lives in technique „light brush“.

what do you plan in your work as a photographer for the next year?i‘d love to try an infrared photography, especially that one which uses hDr technique. i believe that the new year will bring me many wonderful opportunities to make exciting and beautiful photographs.

stark makes it all come true just with her two hands. born in miami /florida/ the blond

30 years old lady changes our view for the paper and for all amazing transformations on which it is capable, being led only by a human imagination. jen draws and deals with animation, but the most

impressive pars of her art work are her paper sculptures. if you wonder where she finds out her inspiration, here is the answer – she gains it from the microscopic patterns in nature, wormholes, and

sliced anatomy. most of her ideas are based on the replication, the conception of infinity, echoing patterns and intelligent designs, which can be found in the pure nature. being true to her experimental nature, jen had expanded the basic materials, adding sometimes wood or glass. that helps her making optically and methodologically sculptures and drawings, which can be accepted as a kind of renaissance in her work.

All these small pieces of paper, put in their right place, make a colorful explosion of feelings, meaning, emotions and spiritual messages. Kamelia is one of those women who remind all their lifetime naughty girls – with a bright twinkle in her eyes, with decided expression and fine elegance, just like the princess in the fairy tales. And she is princess too, but in her own tale, in which she creates beauty and magic with her own hands. the first thing, that had caught my eyes were her unique knitted lamps, but behind them there was a whole big universe of art revelations in different shapes and styles. We will lift up together the curtain, behind which are hidden the art secrets of Kamelia.

what are your first memories, linked with the art and creation?my first touch with the feeling of being happy to create something was when i was 6 years old. there, at that moment was the beginning. in

fact this moment had destined the way, in which i still keep on walking today, creating my art.

what is the main theme of your paintings and how you choose it?the topic is all that the heart

dictates. it is not a choice of the mind, it is a feeling of the heart .... i just learn to listen to my heart! everything moves thanks to love! if you have faith, if you can love and live by the laws of nature, there is no one and nothing that can

do you accept the interior of someone’s home as a way of

self-expression of the people living in it?i accept that people live and arrange their homes according to their understanding of life in general. When you enter someone’s home, all you see is the life of people, living there, their way of thinking, perception, understanding and surely the way they love. sometimes it‘s not even about the financial resources that a person has, the aesthetics of his home is a reflection of the spiritual level that he had reached, a reflection of his thinking and understanding of life itself!

what inspired you to create your knitted lamps and what is the message you send with them to your audience?there is no better sight than that you create yourself! i started with the light because it helps me to see the road, which gives me unlimited possibilities. everything that surrounds us can be created in a new, unique way. i chose this technique because i needed to learn one very basic lesson in my life – the patience! this is the message!

do you have favorite range of colors and which is it?i love all the colors! i work with all of them! each color has its own charge; the art is in their combination! the

colors are like words, if they are misaligned in sentences, a man can hardly read the text… even if the man succeeds with reading, the obvious feeling for the lack of easiness in the presentation of information makes the text unattractive. it’s the same with the colors!

do you work with a preliminary plan or just let the inspiration to guide you when you create your interior jewelry?the preliminary plan does not exist in my work and in

my life! every piece of my art was born spontaneously and that‘s the charm of creation. the inspiration is a moment that can be caught only with the heart! this is the feeling to live your life here and now. no one of your moments can be repeated and when you realize it, you just stop making preliminary plans! somehow you understand that this very moment you live in now determines the next one! this is a movement consistent with the speed, which everyone unwinds according to his

abilities. it’s a simple rule: „When you move, things happen!“

necessary for every artist is to be recognizable. in this line of thinking which are the facts in your creative biography that you would like your fans to know about you?there are artists who create biographies and leave behind them just biographies! my understanding of creativity does not include leaving biographical data as a fact in history. my biographical dreams are much lighter and aren’t looking for history; they are for this life, for this moment and for this feeling of touching people with the art. if my works bring feelings and touch deep, they write my biography in the hearts of people. that’s pretty enough! that’s what i want people to know about me!

Are there any people who you accept as teachers in your path as an artist?there are people who touched me with their understanding of creativity. they inevitably have their own contributed to my development as an artist along the time, but for me the real answer to this question is - life! it is the greatest teacher!

what are your creative plans linked with the near future?

And what will you say about those for the distant future? A question for plans again!!! i can not tell you anything about my plans – i have no plans, i just have dream toward which i walk on consistently with patience and perseverance. i can tell you something about them. i dream never to lose my faith in myself! i dream never to lose the love that leads my life forward! i dream never stop walking toward my personal development, because precisely it builds and creates my artwork! i dream to be where someone needs me and to have the chance to give and help! i dream to get to other

destinations with my art, because this upcoming will fulfill the dreams of many others! i dream when i wake up in the morning to face the next challenge for overcoming and with all that to approach a little more all those dreams i’ve listed above! All those dreams put altogether my creative plans for the near and the distant future!

How would you finish the sentence: „the art is ...?“the art is the proficiency to live!

How and when you get the idea to create BazArt.bg?just before a year. i love much the handmade things. i regularly visit many art shops, but when some of my favorites were closed, i decided i had to do something. people had to find out who is standing behind all these wonderful things that are sold there, and the more - importantly – they had to know where they can find these peculiar treasures.

Is that the reason for you to start organizing bazaars after the establishment of your platform for arts?the truth is that i started to organize „bazArts“ in various art spaces in sofia. i met many artists, who now i can surely call my friends. We had visited many art places in sofia, along with the organization of our „bazArts“ we had prepared the platform. i had participated with bazArt.bg platform in three different festivals, on which i had prepared and organized spaces for handmade arts. bazArt.bg is a comprehensive concept for promotion and presentation of bulgarian craftsmen. through it the artists can participate in our “bazArts”, to sell their stuff on - line, and the small shops have a chance to promote their business.

Do people welcome the idea for handmade products?in the beginning, when i started, it was very interesting for our customers to learn what kind of things can be made by hand. many had past away, watched out and admired all these, but somehow they did not dare to ask for the price, because they were afraid it would be too high. We have to habituate

that it is not just a confection, but a manual labor, which is more highly paid. it‘s good that we already have a regular visitors to bazArt.bg, who took with them some acquaintances, they took their own friends too and from word to word the interest increases.

Does this reaction of customers mean that prices are not available for the general audience; or rather it is a broadly imposed way of thinking?mostly it’s an imposed way of thinking. i think that needs to be changed mandatory. the prices are affordable, and of course everyone can afford himself to buy something unique and special.

you or you find them?there are participants with whom we are working together for almost a year. there are some, who just find me out. it is very important for the artists with all these exhibitions to have a chance to present their creations. i made the connection with some of the artist trough my friends, who have bought some art pieces from them.

And what about you – can we say you are an artist too?my father is an artist and i’ve always liked the different, the unusual and the colorful.

When i was young he took me very often with him to different galleries. then, going around the floors, filled with paintings, i wondered how they were drawn and who had created them?! now i‘m sure that the most important thing for us is to know who stands behind all these wonderful handmade items that we see around us every day.

What are your observations on the fashion at the moment? Do people focus on a particular style or rely on their own sense of beauty?talking about me i have to

say that i am not interested in fashion lines. i like having an accent in my clothing, which i achieve by buying handmade accessories. of course the fashion is something current and always will be. if you like something, no matter is it fashionable, or not, just buy it!

What are your plans, related to the upcoming holidays? Will the Bazaar offer us something selected?in our electronic platform www.bazart.bg, we have made a special christmas line of handmade art for the holidays (decorations for the home, gifts, gift vouchers and many more). currently bazArt.bg develops its newest project bazArt-sofia-Art shops, which make known for the fans of manual labor all the darkest art recesses of sofia, the art shops, the artists and the art spaces.

What is your message to the authors and admirers of handmade uniques?look around and you will see a colorful and infinitely beautiful handmade world! in every corner of our city (sofia) you can find your treasure. Do not be afraid to cross the threshold of the fancy art shops – there you will find expecting you the most smiling and happy people – the artists!

today, the mcA is spread over the entire floor dedicated to the mcA collection, offering a major national resource for education and interpretative programs. it exhibits in two other floors, using them

Maria is from those women with picturesque spirit and talent, who have abilities to re-create Life in unique and memorable way. Refinement, delicacy, elegance and depth exhale from all the images that she recreates on the canvas and her still lives are filled with irresistible feeling of comfort and warmth. Experienced in touching illustration and murals, in the last years Maria creates mostly painting. Her first solo exhibition was opened no where else, but in NPP „Kozloduy“. She has lots participations in different general exhibitions, but the family exhibition in Belgrade is between the most precious and kind memories of the talented lady. Her works are a part of many private collections around the world. The last year she presents her art in Switzerland quite successfully, where her works were warmly welcomed and have attracted many admirers.

when did you realize that you have the gift to create beauty?i paint since i can remember myself and i paint a lot. As a child i worked mostly with oil pastels, watercolors and pens then i began to make oil paintings, but for making them i used my fingers. When we went to a restaurant, i loved much drawing on a napkin. i remember i was producing huge amounts of paintings, with which i had overwhelmed our guests, expecting their rewards.

from whom you’ve learned the most important things in your work as an artist?

the most - important teachers for me, who had stood close to me since my early childhood with their valuable professional advices, are my parents - professor ilia iliev and yordanka ilieva. i am so grateful that they have supported my talent and encouraged me! i am so grateful to my teachers from the school of Arts and the national Art Academy in sofia too. they gave me much. the other people, who i accept as my teachers, are my favorite artists, whose work inspires me.

what you’ve implied in the image of the Bulgarian woman, who you often recreate in your work? And

what you will tell about the image of the woman as all?in the image of bulgarian woman i put in virtues like innocence, purity, love, and not least a beauty. As trite as it sounds, the bulgarian women are very beautiful and quite different in vision and appearance. take a time and look when you walk, how many pretty girls pass you by. i have been in many other countries, but that abundance of beauty is quite rare. i have a special affinity for bulgarian folk costumes. i think they are impressive, varied and carry out deep messages. bulgarian folklore is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. of course i have my own look at the reproduction of colors. for me, the female character has always been appealing as a storyline. i love to paint eyes, lips, hair and beautiful clothes! there is fineness in mastering of eyes. to draw beautiful eyes you have to make them slowly, you need to have a deep look into details, a fine analysis of forms, that’s how you can make them start seeing.

the murals are an indivisible part of your work as an artist. is it harder to work when the painting is much bigger as a size? the mural is a difficult and responsible task. it needs a full compliance with the style

and the concept of the home. What a good mural can do is to turn an ordinary room into a piece of art. the mural can open a huge space to create an optical illusion of a larger room. of course design and painting here are much more responsible and laborious because of the size and because i often have to paint upright. if the mural is on the ceiling, the continuing looking up and working on scaffolding are very tiresome. but the final result is worth the effort i make!

there is a special kind of romance in your artworks! How would you define you own style of creations? thank you! in fact it is true that there is a kind of romance in my works. i think my styles of work are two - a romantic realism and a hyperrealism.

what inspires you to create all this beauty?this topic is very interesting for me. the inspiration often comes suddenly. it may be caused by a beautiful flower or even it would sound strange - from a distorted and wounded fruit, which we throw out without any thinking in our routine life. i often left myself speechless in front of a peeling facade or a dilapidated building. recently i was impressed by a mere husk of onions, which, with a proper lighting and composition can become a part of very conceptual still life. We are

very happy being artists – such simple things can inspire us and fill our souls with joy.

do you have a special affinity toward any theme or characters in your work as an artist? my themes are portraits and still lives. i have other experiments in different directions but i reach to these stories much often and find there a great opportunity for spreading away my imagination and my brush.

what do you dream for as an artist and what do you believe in?

i dream to draw better and better pictures! i have many new ideas which i want to realize. i am a perfectionist and i have many demands on myself. i believe that the professionalism and the innovation can’t remain hidden and unnoticed so if i draw really good pictures, success will never pass me by. i know my best picture is somewhere forward in my time and is waiting to be painted.

what are you planning in creative aspect for your near and not so near future?

my future plans are connected with switzerland again, this winter i will exhibit my paintings at the „st. moritz“ resort. many new paintings are waiting for their time and many new exhibitions will be realized in bulgaria and abroad. health, love, peace of mind and inspiration is what each of us needs to create success. health, love, peace of mind and inspiration is what each of us needs to create successfully. i wish the christmas holidays to bring to all of you many bright moments and warm memories!

tHree – MOntH celeBrAtiOn Of Art

every two years sydney becomes a centre of the art, which continues three full

months and makes the city more beautiful and more

exiting. Artists and spectators are coming from different places around the world to present their art or just to be a part of that big art flow, filling the city. the next edition of

biennale of sydney will be the 19th one and will be held from 21 march to 9 june 2014. the art forum is organized by a non – profit organization with the same name. Along the

time the biennale of sydney became “the largest and most exiting contemporary visual arts event” in Australia. As you may read in the official website of the forum, it’s a three-month exhibition, with an accompanying program of artist talks, forums, guided tours and family days – all free to the public. it sounds pretty good to all the art connoisseurs all around the world. We have to admit that it is the first biennale, established in the Asia-pacific region. the organizers proudly say that the biennale of sydney alongside with those in venice and são paulo is one of the longest running exhibitions of its kind.

the first edition of the

biennale was held in 1973. it was a kind of revolution, because the first and most important aim of the forum was to create and to present widely a platform for individual artists. With it the forum aims to give all these artists a chance to represent their creativity, great ideas and

their different approach to the art, crossing all the national borders.

Along the time biennale of sydney became a measure for professional approach to the art presentations because of its tradition to work with independent artistic directors, who exhibit themes and

artists with a promising and interesting future. in some of its editions the biennale was focused on the Asian art and on the contemporary art of Australia’s region. the greatest innovation of the forum was in 2008 when was present the online venue of the biennale. it can be defined as a pioneer in that line.

the program of the biennale with all these events included in it is a kind of competition for the formal institutional policy of making art in Australia. it enriches much the cultural life of sydney and acts as a kind of cultural catalyst by encouraging innovation and experimentation in art and creativity. Along with giving great opportunities for the artist to present themselves, the biennale encourages the international cultural interchange and the establishing of many global connections.

the 18th biennale of sydney was held from 27 june to 16 september 2012. its Artistic Directors were catherine de zegher and gerald mcmaster. it was the first time in its 39-year history when the exhibition was developed by a curatorial duo. exploring new ideas and visions the 18th biennale of sydney welcomed more than 220 works by over 100 artists from Australia, new zealand,

the Asia pacific, the Americas, europe, south Africa and the middle east. one of the interesting facts, linked with that edition is that 49 from the artists had participated in the forum with collaborative installations, created especially for the biennale. the other 71 among which were many international and local artists travelled to sydney just to oversee the installation of their art and to

become a part of the opening week program of artist talks and events.

since its inception the forum showcased the work of more than 1600 artists from over than 100 countries around the world. today it is accepted as one of the leading international festivals of contemporary art. sydney is a good destination for а trip the next year, especially at the end of march!

t he last edition of the Australian interior Design Awards was held on the

31th of may 2013. it was a special ten year anniversary gala event, which took place in melbourne’s historic plaza ballroom, beneath the regent theatre. under the lights revealed and was

presented many emerging talents of Australia’s interior design industry and were chosen the winners, being the best across the 13 design categories. the event was organized and presented in cooperation by the Design institute of Australia, designex and Artichoke. they all aimed to showcase the impressive

talents of Australian interior designers and architects who have unique and quite different visions about the spaces we live and work in and manage to rearrange all these spaces making them comfortable for using and beautiful as outlook.

the Australian interior Design Awards choose the winners using a credible, industry-

based program, which was established and developed by the Design institute of Australia. We have to say that the awards have national and international significance. the whole process of judging is anonymous, transparent and confidential. it is entirely based to the international standards in the sphere. the members of the jury are eminent designers working closely with the organizer, appointed by the Design institute of Australia. All the participators and their projects receive wide media recognition via a range of newspapers, magazines and websites and in the official website of the event.

being a leader in the interior design events in the country the Australian interior Design Awards became a measure of innovative visions and unexpected ideas for all the people, who dare to make our spaces of living the best scene for our own fairy tale of life!
