DESCRIPTION

This is the media pack I made for Artefact Magazine, stylistically it represents Artefact's website and uses the dame fonts. I spoke to Tim Hoar, the Director of Business & Innovation at London College of Communication (LCC) and Matt Guy, the Corporate Relations Manager at LCC to gain an understanding of how it should look.

What is Artefact?Artefact is a new and free London magazine and

website with a metropolitan focus and an international eye, exploring the other side of the

city.

Positively disrutive and aimed at 18-30 year olds, readers of Artefact devour information and love to

learn but don’t want to be taught.

Think of Artefact as the raw guide to this dynamic city with a mainline to our culture’s earliest

adopters – radical thinking and underground insights direct from the source – the future

leading creatives of tomorrow.

The magazine Artefact is produced by journalism students at London College of Communication, one of the six colleges that make up University of the Arts London, which includes

Wimbledon College of Art, Central Saint MartinsChelsea College of Art Camberwell College,

and London College of Fashion.

This unique creative eco system comprises 20,000 students, from 114 countries in ranging disciplines from such as Fine art, Drama, Fashion, Communication Design, film and Architecture.

These LCC students are intrinsically connected to, absorb and

create the latest sub cultures that go on to become mainstream global cultural themes. They emerge to become key influencers within their respective fields and go on to become key influencers of

the broader creative culture, and thinking and working on an international level.

The AudienceLondon is one of the most creative and compelling cities in

the world, with ever-changing subcultures and vast diversity.

Artefact’s audience of 18-30 year olds are natural explorers and urban enthusiasts, reflecting the city’s vibrancy – they

are passionate about discovering raw and untapped cultures prior to it hitting mainstream media.

As well as being distributed around the university, Artefact is increasingly available in bars, cafes and shops around London and we are developing a distribution strategy that

includes street handouts.

A digital version of Artefact is sent to University of the Arts London graduates - 80,000 of the world’s creative leaders and we have an internal audience of 20,000 early adopters

who are inter-linked with the broad international diaspora, that represents London’s cultural life.

That’s a work in progress, we are in ‘stealth mode’ as the techies say, we are building our circulation so are looking for brand partners with a good fit to the magazine’s editorial and who wish to reach the cultural demographic of the young, the cultural and the adventurous in London.
