Session 1: Everyday digital resources

Technology can be used in the classroom every day to make learning engaging and exciting. This session focuses on how lessons can be delivered using the technology that many schools have in the classroom such as a computer, a projector or an interactive whiteboard. It provides teachers with exciting ways to introduce language and support it with activities. It encourages group discussion around how to effectively use the technology available to teachers in their schools.

Session 2: Creating digital media

This session focuses on using film-making and podcasting to keep engagement high, generate great evidence of learning and provide a unique opportunity for self and peer assessment. The session looks at a range of equipment and software, how best to produce and manage it in the classroom and how to edit a finished product with impressive results.

Session 3: Using images and photos

Photo stories and simple comics are a great way for pupils to tell a story using the foreign language they are learning. This workshop equips teachers with the skills necessary to create exciting pieces of work with their pupils and provides lesson plans of how these could be used effectively as part of larger projects.

Session 4: Managing a digital project

This session involves teachers in a simple project which uses basic everyday technology, and equips them with the skills to develop and deliver something similar with their own pupils. It also gives ideas of how this project could be shared with parents and the wider community through technology and suggests how it could be part of a larger interdisciplinary learning project.
