  • Data Acquisition and Surveillance

Investing in acquiring data, means that I will use them to make decisionsthem to make decisions.

The technology is there, but sometimes it is difficult to justify this investment to justify this investment

This requires knowledge of previous data operation associated costs failure statistics etcoperation, associated costs, failure statistics, etc.

A i h i h d i i Anyway, with or without data acquiring or automation, the human factor is the most important.

    Marcelo Hirschfeldt. www.oiproduction.net

  • Why some new or emerging technologies fail?

Lack of knowledge of the operator Lack of knowledge of the service company Lack of monitoring / surveillance Total delegation of responsibilities

L k f it t Lack of commitment Lack of documentation of successes and failures. There are no adequate information to select candidate There are no adequate information to select candidate

wells Lack of regional infrastructure to provide service Associated services too expensive

    Marcelo Hirschfeldt. www.oiproduction.net

  • Why new or emerging technologies fail?

    Two typical expresions

This system does not work hereeste sistema aqu no funcionaeste sistema aqu no funciona

It was tested and did not workIt was tested and did not workEsto ya lo probamos y no funcion

  • Conclusions

  • CONCLUSIONS

The management of the ALS is a dynamic circuit that requires an interdisciplinary study and work. q p y y

It requires commitment and skills of those who have to select, acquire, evaluate and optimize.

Teamwork between the operator and service company.

In many of the current fields, the ALS need our wells today is not the same need tomorrow.
