Cleaning and Maintaining your Artis Engineered Wood FloorOrdinary Cleaning – Day to DayVacuum or sweep the floor using a dry mop to remove dirt and dust. Occasionally wipe with a damp cleaning cloth.

Removing Stubborn StainsSpray Protecktor cleaner directly on the stain or spillage.Let the spray dissolve the stain for a few minutes.Clean the floor with a damp mop (using only water).

Stain Removal GuideChocolate, grease, juice, cordials, wine – add warm water to Protecktor simple spray cleaner.Crayon, ink, or cigarettes – methylated spirit or household solvent.Candle wax or chewing gum – allow to harden then carefully scrape off.

Oiled FloorsAlways use a maintenance oil.You need to re-oil a floor every six months. By doing this you will bring back the original finish and feed the floor. The oil is simply mopped on with a mop, left for 20 minutes then the excess oil is removed. By doing this any dents, scratches etc will almost disappear as the oil will recolor the floor.Do not worry about patches, as a maintenance oil can only be absorbed to 1.5mm depth, so there is no chance of over oiling a floor.

Matt TexturesUse spray cleaner more often, as textured surfaces require a little more care, as dirt can stick to the texture. A greasy looking surface can occur if you havecleaned the floor in the wrong way, example – using too much detergent, such as soap. To remove this film, apply laminate spray cleaner onto the mopand then damp mop the floor, then dry mop after.

Polished SurfacesDried watermarks are often more visible on polished surfaces. Therefore always wipe with a dry mop after cleaning.

Floors with Bevelled EdgesFloors with bevelled edges are more sensitive to water since the bevel acts as a pocket where water can collect. Never wet clean the floor. Cleaning with a slightly damp mop is possible occasionally but make sure water has not collected in the bevel. Always dry mop the floor after cleaning. To further reduce the risk of water, it is recommended that safe seal be used on all installations.

Cleaning and Maintaining your Artis Vinyl FloorBasic Cleaning Newly laid floors should be left for at least 24 hours before you replace furniture or clean the floor. Before using a cleaning and maintenance product, you should sweep the floor with a soft brush.Following installation, please remove all remains of adhesive.

Day to Day CleaningA wet mop with a light detergent will be sufficient to maintain your new vinyl floor, dry mopping aftercleaning will reduce the risk of smearing.

Stubborn StainsA vinyl cleaner can be used for the removal of stubborn stains, please follow manufacturers instructions onthe bottle/tin.

Cleaning and Maintaining your Artis Solid Wood FloorOrdinary Cleaning – Day to DayVacuum or sweep the floor using a dry mop to remove dirt and dust. Occasionally wipe with a damp cleaning cloth.

Removing Stubborn StainsSpray Protecktor cleaner directly on the stain or spillage.Let the spray dissolve the stain for a few minutes.Clean the floor with a damp mop (using only water).

Stain Removal GuideChocolate, grease, juice, cordials, wine – add warm water to Protecktor simple spray cleaner.Crayon, Ink, or cigarettes – methylated spirit or household solvent.Candle wax or chewing gum – allow to harden then carefully scrape off.

Oiled FloorsAlways use a maintenance oil.You need to re-oil a floor every six months. By doing this you will bring back the original finish and feed the floor. The oil is simply mopped on with a mop, left for 20 minutes then the excess oil is removed. By doing this any dents, scratches etc will almost disappear as the oil will recolour the floor.Do not worry about patches, as a maintenance oil can only be absorbed to 1.5mm depth, so there is no chance of over oiling a floor.

Installation, care and maintenanceAll Artis Floors have an installation, care and maintenanceguide, which should be read carefully before proceeding withinstallation work.The guide must be passed on by the installer to the end user,as it forms an integral part of the product guarantee.
