SINSTALLATION METHODPRE-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONSEXAMINATION

• Examine surfaces to receive Artisan Resin Panels• Verify surfaces to support Artisan Resin Panels are clean, dry, flat, plumb, level, square, stable,

rigid, and capable of supporting the weight• Notify architect of conditions that would adversely affect installation or subsequent use• Do not begin surface preparation or installation until unacceptable conditions are corrected

PREPARATION• Protection of In-Place Conditions: Protect adjacent surfaces and areas from contact with

installation materials• Surface Preparation:

STEP 1:Prepare surfaces in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

STEP 2: Remove dirt, dust, debris, oil, grease, curing agents, bond breakers, paint, coatings, and other surface contaminants which could adversely affect installation of Artisan Resin Panels.

STEP 3:Remove laitance and loosely adhering concrete.

STEP 4:Repair defects, damage, and cracks in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

STEP 5:Provide dry, sound, and uniform surface suitable for installation of Artisan Resin Panels.

HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS• Two people must carry panel.• Each person should have one hand underneath bottom side of panel while the other hand

holds the side.• Always ensure stone panel is carried maintaining an angle no greater than 90° with stone

facing upwards (as they would sit on an A-Frame). The backing supports the weight of thestone, and the stone should never face downward. DO NOT CARRY PANEL FLATHORIZONTAL TO GROUND.

• If the panels are shipped flat, lift from two corners while slowly bringing up to a standingposition while ensuring the center of the panels are stable and controlled. Never lift the panelsout of a crate from the center.

• When picking up panels, it is helpful to use a couple blocks of wood to set the panel on. Thiswill protect the corners while allowing room to lift up when moving.

• If storing panels long term on A-Frame, place a piece of plywood behind the stone panels toprevent bowing. Clipping the panels to the plywood adds more safety from any bowing

• All panels must be stored indoors in a controlled climate at all times. Extreme temperaturechanges will warp and bow the panels. If panelds do bow or wardp, lay flat with sandbags ontop for several days until bowing comes out. Once you install the panels, always use a bracesystem to ensure the panels are tight up against the substrate and allow for the panels toadhere to the substrate flat. This will also take out any slight bowing that naturally occurs insome stones.

ASI will not be responsible for any damages to panels due to mishandling of our products. If you have concerns or questions, please reach out to [email protected] or 212-206-1730 before handling.

SINSTALLATION METHOD, CONT

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, CONT.

STEP 1: Template the back wall to be covered with Artisan Resin Panels using template strips with a hot glue gun (or a laser template system). If installing a wall box, make the necessary cut out and template around.

STEP 2:Roll on two coats of RedGard (waterprrofing membrane) where the seams will lay.

NOTE: Artisan Resin Panels should be at room temperature at the time of fabrication/installation

STEP 3:Establish how the panels will fit according to the grain or movement in the stone before cutting. cut and test-fit the first panel using the chosen rail saw system.

STEP 4:CUTTING: Using a rail saw, all Artisan Resin Panels can be cut dry using a marble cutting disc

STEP 5: If applying to a painted surface, rough sand the surface prior to applying Great Stuff Pro Wall and Floor Spray Foam Adhesive.

NOTE: Before applying the spray foam adhesive, wipe the aluminum backer with lacquer thinner to clean any dirt from the backer and allow to dry. To install in the field using spray adhesive, spray a consistent bead and stay 6" to 8" across the whole panel. Be sure that the bead contacts the RedGarded corner to achieve a complete seal. Brace the panel for a minimum of 1/2 hour to allow the adhesive to hold. Be sure to plumbed corners (if necessary) using suction cups within the first 10 minutes of bracing the panel. At this time, corners can be plumbed up (if required) using suction cups to manipulate the Artisan Resin Panels.

STEP 6:Install panels securely in place to supports with tight, flush joints.

STEP 7:CAULKING: Using painters tape, tape off the back Artisan Resin Panel approximately 3/8" in from the corner to ensure a clean caulk job. Tape off the inside corner of the Artisan Resin Panels.

Using Custom Building Product (color matched) Polyblend Caulk or Commercial 100% Silicone Caulk, fill inside corners enough that caulking will squeeze out of the joint. Wipe excess caulking and remove painters tape. Brace panels for a minimum of 1/2 hour to allow Dow adhesive to hold.

STEP 8:Run a finish bead of Translucent White DOW 786 RTV Sealant around base and all corners.

STEP 9:FINISHING: Clean panels with lacquer thinner.

SOAP DISHES: To install soap dishes, use an angle grinder to cut slots in the panels at the appropriate locations. Tape off Artisan Resin Panel and corner shelf, fill slots with Polyurethane silicone/adhesive; ensure a good seal. Wipe a thin bead of Polyurethane silicone/adhesive on the back edge of the corner shelf and press into the wall. Wipe off excess and remove tape.

SOAP BOX: To install soap boxes, ensure that a timber brace has been installed between the studs to support the weight of the box, tape of the panel and the edge of the soap box. Run a small bead of polyurethane silicone/adhesive around the perimeter of the soap box and press soap box firmly into the hole.

ASI will not be responsible for any damages to panels due to mishandling of our products. If you have concerns or questions, please reach out to [email protected] or 212-206-1730 before handling.
