As we usher into 2015, I am immensely proud to be able to feature
such incredible people making a huge difference in this January edi-
tion of The ArtLA Magazine. Jeff Koons is doing some sterling work
in creating international standards for the protection of children from
abuse and abduction. Anish Kapoor has embraced the refugee crisis
that has arisen out of the tragedy in Syria, and has personally been at the
vanguard of artists making a difference to the thousands of displaced
people in that area. Andrew Rogers continues to highlight beautiful
people and places in his Rhythms of Life series. Candy Chang utilizes
public spaces to create amazing art that invokes change, one life at a
time. The Rush Philanthropic Group makes a difference everyday to the
inner city youths through art educations and creative exposure. Lastly,
Dwell with Dignity is on a mission of design changing environments,
and thus changing perceptions and lives, one interior at a time. I hope
pause for just a moment and ask, “what can I do to make a difference?”
Wishing you a fantastic year,
Heidi Gray
