BBC Three:

BBC Three’s remitThe remit of BBC Three is to bring younger audiences to high-quality public service broadcasting through a mixed-genre schedule of innovative UK content featuring new UK talent. Rebranded in 2001 by the BBC, BBC Three allows the BBC to broadcast shows aimed at a younger audience, mainly 16 – 34 year olds, that that of the other BBC channels struggle to air shows aimed specifically for. The channel is on air between 19:00 and 05:00 as it shares bandwidth with CBBC.

BBC Three: Shows

In The Flesh:

A three part drama on BBC Three which first aired 17 March 2013, In The Flesh follows Kieren Walker and his reintroduction to his local community after he rose from the dead in an event known as ‘The Rising’.

The Fades:A six part drama on BBC Three which first aired 211 September 2011, The Fades is a supernatural drama that follows Paul who is haunted by apocalyptic dreams, and his efforts to save the world from The Fades, spirits stuck in the living world

ITV:

ITV’s remitTo be gotten

Launched in 1955, Independent Television (ITV) was launched to provide competition to the BBC, ITV unlike BBC makes no money from the TV licensing and all its income come from adverts and other items aired on its channel. ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK.

Poirot:A crime drama based on Agatha Christies character, Hercule Poirot, the character first aired in 1989 and has run for 13 series.

Downton Abbey:A period drama, first aired , follows the staff and family living and working within the Downton abbey estate.

Launched in 2001, E4 (entertainment 4) was launched to allow channel 4 to air shows aimed at a younger audience, around 16-34. It was quickly challenged by BBC Three, and is known for airing shows imported from America.

Skins:A teen drama that follows a group of teens from Bristol through the two years of sixth form, it first aired on the 25 January 2007.
