As the battle with Coronavirus continues, we at SOS Children’s Villages of India are committed to supporting vulnerable children and their families in this crisis. Youth from SOSChildren's Village Hyderabad open his own foodjoint

Due to lockdown and the severe impact on the hotel industry, Eeswar lost his job. But he didn’t give up and instead decided to become an entrepreneur by setting up his own food joint. He inaugurated his restaurant with much pride, saying,“because of the support I received from my SOS family, I got the courage to build my own life. I am determined to achieve my goals and create a good life for others as well”.

Kitchen gardening forcaregivers – FSPBegusarai

25 caregivers from Ratauli village in Begusarai attended a kitchen gardening workshop with Mr. Amit Kumar, a highly qualified farmer from Odisha University helping marginalized farmers make the most of their small lands. The women caregivers are learning simple vegetable-growing techniques in their backyard. and are excited to have their own small kitchen garden very soon.

Amid social distancing norms and uncertainties, SOS India Family Strengthening team in Shillong held an awareness session on World Youth Skills Day for the young members of the Bal Panchayat. The session highlighted the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship.

Faced with the scarcity of fresh fruits during the lockdown, SOS mother Yashodha, who has always maintained a vegetable garden, decided to grow fruits herself. Her children, who share her passion for gardening, planted a variety of fruits. The trees are ready with fruits and children are relishing them with others.

To celebrate the occasion of RakshaBandhan, our children at SOS Children’s Village Alibaug created 200 Rakhis and 10 greeting cards for our Indian soldiers. This activity was initiated by our co-worker Vaibhav Ghadage who also explained to the youth about the great work these soldiers are doing to protect the country and its people.

Our community is trying to sail through the pandemic storm and while it is not easy, we’re making the best of what we have. However, your love and support can keep

their spirits high and help them battle their daily struggles in lock down.
