RWANDA TOGETHER WE CAN ORGANIZATION
NUTRITION FOR A REASON PROJECT REPORT
Thhe purpose of this project is to raise awareness to 100 children living with HIV/AIDS on how preparing healthy meals especially with cheap foods we cultivate and take to the local market can improve their health. People don't know which foods contain vitamins and nutrients which can even increase the antibodies.
The event took place at Palast Rock Hotel (Bugesera district) in their courtyard. Over 100 children attended as well as 15 volunteers from RTWC, 3 nurses with first aid kits from Nyamata Hospital, and Captain Emmanuel from Gako military academy.
From 7am to 1 pm each activity was well organised and successfully completed
Itinerary
8:00 am to 8:45min Children were on the way from the hospital to the Palast Rock Hotel accompanied by RTWC volunteers.
One by one, the children formed one line walking slowly and singing God's songs till we arrived at the hotel.
8:50 to 9:30 am
All the children and their parents spent 10 minutes at the opening ceremony. After praying, we divided them into groups age accordingly. Usually they have groups at the hospital their nurses use for better managing their systems of taking anti retrovirus medications.
Here Norbert is giving children masks, cape etc before they start to play in groups. The children were so interested to be at this hotel because it so expensive for them to pay and enter the game room there for children.
Joseph( RTWC volunteer) is giving instructions and briefing all children about this event.
He was showing them where they are allowed to go. He was also describing the whole day's activities and welcoming the visitors.
9:35 to 10:15 am
Captain Emmanuel ( nurse) started with conversation about healthy nutrition
All children and some of their parents were attentive following the presentation, and after, 15 children asked questions on how they are going to apply cooking skills learned from the event training to their homes.
From 10:20 to 12:00
Children went back into their groups to drink Fanta and eat sambusa (meat) as breakfast. Then we started the talent show activity.
This is a great moment to all people who attended our event because this boy who is singing, was known to live with loneliness and he doesn't like to talk with other children. He is singing his own song he wrote in 2014. It was really touching.
Young girls feeling the afrobeat music and dancing together.
This was the best song from Nigeria called Dodo by Devido. I liked it too.

From12:00 to 12:30
After the talent show, all the children and volunteers joined together and formed a circle for us to be able to divide us into two teams. We wanted to play onelast game before we ate lunch.
From 12:30 to 1 pm
Time to eat and drink, while one by one the people were telling how good the event was.
