Campus Facilities and Contact Information

Website: http://www.skywayascend.com Mailing Address: 14900 W. Van Buren St., Goodyear, AZ 85338 (USA) Phone Number: (623) 535-4858

The home campus is located at Skyway Church, 14900 W. Van Buren Street, Goodyear, Arizona 85338.

There are satellite campuses located throughout the United States and other nations of the world. In the satellite school environment, the student body of the regional school watches the classes together through digital technology. These sessions are facilitated by Campus Deans or Campus Directors who foster positive and vibrant community learning experiences. They can be stopped at key times to promote student participation and questions. This helps ensure the material is presented in a relevant manner for each region in which the class is taken.

Degrees Offered

The only degree AIU offers in both English and Spanish, the associate degree in pastoral leadership provides students with a biblical and ministerial foundation. While all students are able to pursue the associate degree, our initial purpose has been to provide international pastors with an opportunity to earn a degree that would provide them with the necessary foundations to succeed as pastors in their respective nations. We also know that some nations require pastors to receive formal education to be recognized as a pastor by the government; this degree can provide such pastors with the necessary credentials. In such cases, students are responsible to verify with their governments if the AIU diploma will be accepted.

A bachelor’s degree in leadership with specific areas of emphasis are available to equip leaders in church vocational ministries and in the Marketplace. Every student will receive training in biblical/kingdom principles and receive spiritual impartation from their instructors as appropriate.

A master’s degree in leadership is available for those seeking advanced training and equipping beyond their bachelor’s degree. The master’s program requires students to prepare and teach curriculum as part of their capstone project. This includes writing a workbook, preparing a PowerPoint presentation, and presenting the material in a classroom setting.

A doctoral degree in leadership is also offered. Students in this program will write a minimum 25,000-word book on their chosen subject as approved by the Dean or AIU administration. Doctoral students will learn all aspects of writing a book in addition to receiving advanced level of leadership training.

motivated leaders who are empowered and equipped to fulfill the calling of God that is in their hearts.

Dr. Greg is the Apostle of Skyway/Ascend which includes Ascend International Ministry, an apostolic

network of churches and ministries, and Skyway Church, a large regional church in Goodyear, Arizona.

Dean Dr. Loraine Coleman has served as a staff pastor at Skyway Church for about 20 years. She has led

various ministries over the years. A former educator in the public school system, Dr. Loraine has a heart

for education and seeing students successful in their journey toward a degree.

goal of training today’s leaders to do God’s work in the Church and Marketplace. She has 10 years’

experience in higher education as an administrator and faculty member and has served in or led

childcare and youth ministries over the years.

AIU Faculty

Each class offered is taught by a person who has a proven track record of success in the field of study presented. This allows impartation of successful strategies and of life from real-time leaders of our generation. The presented concepts and methods in each class are relevant to our students’ world. Most of the digital classes are recorded live at the home campus. The same instructors presented online may be available to come to satellite campuses to present live instruction throughout the year.

Some instructors are pastors and staff of Skyway Church or are members of Ascend International Ministry. Other instructors are selected as adjunct faculty for their areas of expertise in a particular field.

Alignment Opportunities with Ascend International Ministry

Those who graduate from AIU have the opportunity, if they desire, to apply for a license through Ascend International Ministry and to be commissioned into the ministry network.

Partnership with Wagner Leadership Institute

AIU classes will be offered as approved credits for students of Wagner Leadership Institute (WLI) Phoenix. Other WLI campuses may accept AIU classes for transfer; approval from individual WLI campuses are required. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the appropriate WLI campus for approval. It is recommended the student do this before taking the AIU class.

Leaders change the world! We believe that God’s people should be able to advance the Kingdom wherever they work and wherever they interact with people. Anyone, especially current and future business owners, desiring to take Kingdom-minded, Kingdom-motivated business principles and practices into their sphere of influence in the marketplace should register.

The Marketplace Leadership specialty track imparts proven, practical business principles from those who are currently successful in business and that are relevant to the needs of leaders and entrepreneurs in the marketplace today. Students will learn how to take the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are inside of them to others in a practical way with supernatural power.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world, a city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Learning how to be successful in the marketplace and in their business and being able to say “I believe this is the solution” is when students will begin to have influence on their Mountains. BIB 111: The Book of Philippians (3 credits) Greg Brown The book of Philippians is filled with many truths which relate to us in our world today. The Church founded in Philippi was the first church established in all of Europe. The foundations of our faith are written to people who did not grow up reading their bibles much like the

nations today. Yet, the power of the gospel transformed Philippi into one of the strongest churches which was established. In this we find the overall theme of Joy is found throughout. Joy is an inner strength which empowers us through struggles and afflictions. It is a source of power to make good decisions and remain faithful to Christ. The joy of the Lord empowers us to have loving relationships that last beyond circumstances and persecutions. This series will release new joy from the Holy Spirit into your life as you study with me.

The term “webinar” is a combination of web and seminar, and it allows you to make the same visual and auditory presentation you would to a room filled with people, or to one person across your desk, to an unlimited number of people over the Internet. There are both technology and technique considerations when using this powerful tool, and you’ll learn them both in this class.

BUS 131: The Art of Listening (1 credit) Sam Holliday The first session of “Listening for Success” demonstrates what listening is NOT and why we should listen. The second session teaches us what listening IS and how to listen more effectively. Listening is a very easy thing to do and it is also one of the most difficult things to do. Learning to listen requires discipline and effort. When you listen to people, it proves to them that they can trust you. People trust people that listen to them. When you ask questions and you pay attention to their responses, then they believe you are good at what you do. When you listen they know you care about them. Everyone knows it is important to listen – everyone knows it but few people can actually do it. As you learn and apply these principles they will bring you success in every area of your life, business, and family.

PDV 101: Defeating the Strongholds of the Mind (2 credits) Becca Greenwood We have all experienced battles with thoughts that need to be diffused and defeated. We have all battled mental strongholds, though we may not have realized it. A stronghold of the minds is a lie that Satan has established in our thinking that we count as true but is actually a false belief. When we embrace these lies, they affect our attitudes, emotions, and behaviors.

God wants all of His children to walk in victory and freedom in their thoughts lives. However, the Bible tells us that we have an evil and deceptive enemy who is “the father of lies and all that is false”. (John 8:44 AMP)

In teaching Defeating Strongholds of the Minds, Rebecca explains how Satan traps us in lies and false perceptions. Join her during this course as she discusses how to partner with God, enter into worship, and embrace our Kingdom identity to gain victory through:

Once you discover which of these five are operating in your life you will see more clearly what you were created for. For years people have viewed the Fivefold for only those in church leadership. However, Ephesians 4:7 states, "Now to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it." In other words, we all have different measures of these gifts.

STUDENT POLICIES

Campus/Cohort Policies

Students agree to conduct themselves as responsible citizens and actively contribute to the educational, spiritual and social environment. AIU students are expected to pursue spiritual growth and maturity; have a willingness to learn; and demonstrate respect, honest, integrity and reconciliation in all interactions.

Homework Policies

Homework is to be submitted no later than 30 days following the class. For those taking classes online, homework is due no later than 30 days after the tuition is paid for the class and the class link is sent to the student. Failure to submit homework on time may result in the student having to repay tuition and retake the class.

Home (Goodyear) campus and online students must email their homework, per guidelines in the AIU writing handbook, to [email protected].

Satellite campus students must email their homework, per guidelines in the AIU writing handbook or as designated by AIU administration or Satellite Campus Director, to designated email for their respective campuses. Students should receive the email address from their respective Satellite Campus Director. If necessary, AIU administration (home campus) may be contacted for more information at [email protected].

Plagiarism and Academic Integrity

Plagiarism is a term that refers to the use of another’s ideas or words as one’s own. It’s a form of stealing which is, of course, against biblical values. AIU students must use original thoughts on all homework assignments, including curricula and books written. Any direct quotes or ideas from other sources (e.g., written, oral, visual) must be indicated in footnotes. We do not expect AIU students to willingly and knowingly commit plagiarism, but if one does so, it will result in non-acceptance of the homework assignment.

A student who has been accused of plagiarism will not receive credit for that particular class. The student may petition to the dean for permission if he/she disagree with the assessment. If permission is granted, he/she may resubmit the assignment in the time permitted by the dean. If the homework is then suitable, credit for the course will be given. If the petition is denied, he/she must re-register for the class and resubmit original (i.e., non-plagiarized) assignments. Re-registering will require the student to pay for the class again.

After three instances of plagiarism, students may be suspended and/or required to enroll in a special, one-on-one writing class that will address plagiarism and how to avoid it.

Students may not submit an assignment for one class if it has previously been submitted for another class. If a student does this, he/she will be required to resubmit an original (i.e., not previously used) assignment within 14 days of the request or as determined by Campus Director, AIU Dean, or other University as appropriate.
