SlateBlue Limestone/Golden Ray Paving

The Fielden Slate Range brilliantly displays the natural diversity that is unique to natural

stone. These three popular colours of high quality and exceptionally durable slate are hand selected for

exterior use in the UK. Finished with a sawn edge, this features the combination of smoothness and texture

so typical of the finest slate, and makes these stones suitable for use inside and out.

Blue Limestone For a consistent colour

and contemporary look, this stone is a designers

favourite. In early days this stone was mainly used

for doorsteps and porches, but is now also very

popular for driveways, terraces and garden paths.

Golden Ray This limestone has a special

tactile quality with soft colour tones which bring a

warmth and unique style to any setting.

Granite Basalt

Granite Well known for its hardness and resistance to wear, granite is the perfect floor material for

high traffic areas. Easy to keep clean, and with a plain textured character, this stone is available in the

colours shown.

Basalt is a very hard stone with very similar properties to Granite. It is a volcanic rock and has a

uniform shade of colour. It is perfect for any modern or minimalist scheme.

Natural Stone Block Paving

Nataural Stone Block Paving For a natural and timeless paving product, look no

Architectural Stone For that complementary touch to enhance any project, make sure you

use the Fielden Premier Service to source and provide a quality solution. With an immense range of stock

and bespoke products available, you can be sure that we will have the answers.

Laying GuideThe following four simple steps will help you to lay your paving:

PreparingPrepare the base to ensure that the surface of the laid paving will be at least 150mm below

the damp proof course of adjacent buildings from which there should also be 1:60fall. Note:

to reduce the risk of subsidence, use the Fielden range of geotextiles from Ashfield.

SelectingSelect slabs from different packs to ensure an attractive colour blend and lay paving onto

a full wet mortarbed (5parts buildings and/1part water/1part cement). Ensure slabs are

laid with the largest face upwards,with 10mm joints.

CuttingFor all cutting, the use of a powered disc cutter is essential. Please use all relevant safety

equipment, including goggles. Note:Ashfield stock a wide range of diamond tipped

blades especially designed for the clean and accurate cutting of natural stone.

PointingPoint the paving, using a semi-dry mortar mix (3parts buildings and/1part cement), and

force into joints and finish with a jointing tool. Note: Ashfield supply a range of brush in

grout and mortar, and all the necessary tools to ensure the quick and professional

completion of your paving project. Contact our sales office for more information.

As with all natural stone, colour variation is an evident and attractive feature throughout the Fielden collection. Whilstthe colours produced in this brochure are as accurate as photographic and printing presses allow, we recommend that,wherever possible,choices are made from product samples. All stone should be examined prior to laying. Once anyproduct has been laid, Ashfield cannot accept any responsibility either for faults found or for any problems arising fromthe stone having been used inappropriately. Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure you enjoy the Fielden rangeto the full. Ashfield cannot be held responsible forthe natural occurring phenomenon of efflorescence.
