The family of Harold Reid expresses their appreciation to the Ashland family for all the kindnesses shown to them during the illness and passing of Harold. A special thank you to Sabrina Martin for designing the worship bulletin covers during Advent. The Upper Room booklets for January-February are on the communication rack across from the Cornerstone Classroom. Check the ashlandumc.org website for upcoming events. Send your email address to [email protected] if you are not receiving emails from the church. Congratulations to Shaun and Eva Zarandi on the birth of their grandson, Bennett William Revell on November 14, 2016. Congratulations to Val Songer on the birth of twin grandchildren, Raymond Travis Belman and Marlow Grace Belman on November 27, 2016. ASHLAND FORWARD FOCUS . . As has been previously shared, an architect has been recommended and the Trustees will soon name a Building Committee. The architect will provide Conceptual drawings and plans for three focal points:

Sanctuary design changes, A Welcome Center/Meeting Space, A Family Life Building.

These drawings will be presented to our church for review in order for us to make positive and informed decisions as the time approaches.

ALL children invited to participate in our

presentation of the Nativity Story on Sunday

services. No practice, no lines just join us in the

‘Tis the Season…

…and the members of Ashland are making it brighter for many children at Epworth Children’s Home. Our Epworth Angel Tree had 100 gift Requests and only a few remain on the tree.

Remember: Unwrapped gifts and monetary gifts must be back by Sunday, December 11th. (You can use gift bags.)

Leave packages around the tree. Monetary gifts should be handed to the person at the tree on Sunday mornings or give them to the church office during the week.

Thanks for the great response! Ashland’s Missions Committee

Do you have an Epworth Angel Tree gift tag and did not let anyone know what gift(s) you committed to purchase? If so, please contact the church office and let Maria Anderson

know the number(s) on your Angel Gift Tag(s).

Trustee Work Day

December 10th – 8:30 am--1 pm Please come and help remove the dead shrubbery in front of the church and around the church offices. Bring a yard rake and 2 bales of pine straw. Lunch will be served in room 138. Contact Maria Anderson at [email protected] or 798-5350, x 10 if plan to eat lunch.

Many Hands still needed There is still a great need for teams in SC to help rebuild our neighbor’s homes. The estimate is 3 years to finish the rebuilding from the floods of 2015 and the damage from Hurricane Matthew. If you can help or know folks who would like to help, contact: Sara McCutchen, Volunteer Coord. at the SC UM Conference Center, 803-786-9486
