2 Project Overview
Install synthetic turf, multi-use field and new stadium lights for the 2013-14 school year
Over 1,000 synthetic turf surfaces exist across the US.
3 Synthetic Surface Benefits Turf enables year round, multiple uses Turf can be used over 2,000 hours per year (20 times normal
usage of current field) Safety: consistent surface reduces injury rate, particularly knee
injuries and concussions.
Users Include: —Physical Education Classes from BOTH Schools —Middle and High School Marching Band —High School and Youth Football Teams —Baseball Teams Early Season Practices —Softball Teams Early Season Practices —Youth and High School Soccer Teams —WIAA High School Neutral Site Events —Miscellaneous Community Opportunities
Students served increases from 450 to 1,870!

6 Turf Revenue/Cost Benefits
Potential to host WIAA level 4 football playoffs or other neutral site athletic events (synthetic turf field required).
Potential to host soccer tournaments / playoffs .
Can lease to youth football, soccer and lacrosse organizations in northeastern Wisconsin.
Ability to host any event --- rain/ snow or other inclement weather.
Maintenance savings over the life of the field – no grass seed, fertilizer, water or paint (all environmental benefits as well).
7 Key Components of Project
Excavation / Field Prep: — 8” – 12” of field excavation — Stone / crushed rock base with drainage system — Concrete “rim” between field and track
Turf Installation: — “Carpet” laid by chosen turf company using their expert
resources — Installed in 5 yard “rolls” — Yard line markers cut and installed after carpet is laid — Logo of school and sponsors sewn into turf — Rubber and sand fill added and spread last
8 Project Timing
Once vendor selections are complete, total project takes 8 – 10 weeks:
— 2 - 3 weeks for carpet manufacture — 4 weeks for excavation / field prep — 2 - 3 weeks for turf installation
Turf can be installed for the 2013-14 school year! May 25, 2013 – August 1, 2013
9 Project Cost
$800,000 for turf field, per initial bids and recent local
installations (Notre Dame Academy, West De Pere High
School)
— Costs will be $400,000 for excavation / field prep and $400,000 for turf and installation.
$200,000 for new stadium lights.
Turf field component of the project to be privately funded,
with school district funding stadium lights.

12 Project Next Steps
Continue to meet with potential major donors
Host “Packer Party” during Packer away game for large donors (December 16, 2012)
Kick-Off widespread community fundraising at 2012 Winter Sports Season (December 20 – Boys Home Basketball Game)
Apply for and Obtain NFL Grant (December)
— NFL matches funds raised for turf fields up to $200,000 — Requires at least $200,000 in funds raised to be “in the
bank” to match
Begin construction Spring (May) of 2013 First game on new field August 2013!
