The new GEL-Kayano® 18

The new GEL-Kayano® 18 stays true to its legendary lineage, improving upon its famous ride with technically advanced features in two new exciting stories for Spring 2012: a new faster, lighter upper construction and newly designed Dynamic DuoMax® for improved platform comfort. What's New?

Dynamic DuoMax® The latest evolution in support has been introduced in the shoe with the multi-rigid shape of the new Dynamic DuoMax technology. Fans of the series will enjoy the same level of support and stability felt in previous models, while enjoying an ounce of weight savings over its predecessors.

Soft Top DuoMax® The GEL-Kayano 18 also features Soft Top DuoMax, which enhances the platform comfort with gender-specific densities. Men on average, typically have a larger body mass than women, which tends to mean they will compress a midsole more than the average woman. Because of this, the GEL-Kayano 18 is constructed with a firmer 53 degree Solyte® layer for men

and a softer 48 degree Solyte for women.

Heel Clutching System™ A final addition of the Heel Clutching System completes this magnificent update. This system removes the traditional internal heel components and replaces it with an exoskeletal heel counter. This provides a more comfortable heel fitting environment while decreasing the probability of friction or irritation.
