    ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

    Super Tineri ASIRYS is a non-profit, non-political youth organization that operates

    out of the cities of Targu Frumos andPas

    cani in Romania. Formally established in 2009,Super Tineri-ASIRYS facilitates domestic and international projects that utilize non-formal education to develop socially conscious and action-oriented youth who will lead

    positive change in their communities.

    The MISSION of Super Tineri ASIRYS is to support the progress ofcommunities in all fields.

    Its priorities are:

    To create opportunities for young people to develop themselves personally,professionally, and socially so they can create positive change in theircommunities

    To promote the interests of youth on a social, cultural, educational, physical andeconomic level

    To promote the recognition and acceptance of diversity as a means to createequal opportunity for all individuals

    Promote the values of civic responsibility Ensure cohesion between economic development and social development in

    order to ensure long-term prosperity of the community Protect the environment, the community and the animals by fostering respect for

    nature Promote a sense of public integrity through discouraging corrupt activities and

    ensuring transparency and social responsibility in all citizens

    Through volunteering, everyone has something to gain thebenefits alternate between personal satisfaction to life-changing

    experiences, and good friends to a network of professional contacts.

    But the main benefit is a community that is warmer, healthier, moresolid, more harmonious, and more confident of its own strengths.

    That, in itself, is much more powerful.

    STEP 1.

    This is where you will learnabout the organization, aboutour projects, and our impact.

    This is a key period where youwill learn to adopt the correct

    attitude, challenge yourperspective, and have an

    open-mind. This attitude isnecessary to be a Super Youth.

    STEP 2.

    After adopting the rightattitude, you become part of ateam in one of Super Tinerisdepartments. Here you will

    develop your sense ofcommunity and learn the

    importance of teamwork andcollaboration.

    STEP 3.

    Actively participate in SuperTineris projects andfeel the

    impact. Become furtherintegrated into the Super Tineri

    community and be activelyinvolved in facilitating andparticipating in a project.

    STEP 4

    Take on a biggerrole within theorganization become a

    department manager, task forceleader, or become a coordinator.

    You will develop your leadershipskills, time and team management,

    and will learn to become a moreeffective young person.

    STEP 5.

    Become a project manager! Hereyou will develop your own project

    to address an unmet need in thecommunity, and will work with thevarious departments to implement

    it. Project managers are key toengaging and developing youth to

    prepare them for a future

    leadership role in Super Tineri.

    Upon completing the full ASIRYS experience, you will have challenged yourself in many waysand developed yourself into a youth ambassador. As a youth ambassador, you will share your

    experiences with other young people and inspire them to make a positive impact in theircommunity just as you have done.

    RULES OF THE ORGANIZATION

    1) Take initiative! Do not wait for someone to tell you what to do or to offer you anopportunity. We will teach you, but it is your responsibility to learn.

    2) Feedback is important for growth. You must be willing to both give and acceptopen andconstructive feedbackregardless of your title.

    3) Hold yourself and others accountable. All departments must provide a monthlyprogress report on its achievements, goals, etc. All members of the organization(both general volunteers and managers) will assess the work of each departmentby providing a score between 1 and 10 (1 = poor, 10 = excellent) and providefeedback to the management team.

    4) Each volunteer is free to leave the organization at any point in time, unless thevolunteer is in a leadership position.Leadership positions may include (but arenot limited to) project managers, department managers, or team leaders.Volunteers in leadership positions may leave the organization following the fullcompletionof the project or their term as department manager.

    5) Elections will be held annually in March. Any volunteer in the organization iswelcome to apply for a particular function, or another individual may nominatehim or her.

    6) Departments may have only as many members as they can reasonably manage. Departments can have an unlimited number of volunteers, but all volunteers

    within a department must have meaningful and clearly identified jobdescriptions relevant to that department.

    7) Our organization is completely not-for-profit, non-political and anti-discriminatory. We do not align ourselves with any particular political view ororganization, and do not discriminate against any individuals based on age, sex,gender, race, or economic background.

    8) All projects must be youth-focused and address an unmet need in thecommunity. The aim of our projects is to engage youth in society in order to

    develop them as future leaders who can make a positive impact in theircommunity.

    9) All individuals must show respect and receive respect. Recognize differences,accept differences, and appreciate differences in one another.

    10)Have fun! You should always be enjoying your time in the organization. If at anytime you are not, re-evaluate the situation and develop a solution.
