Piano Table Parts

One lid

Six doric columnlegs, two of thesehave wire man-agement holes asshown.

Six table top parts, predrilled and inserts installed to receivebolts with 10mm hex/Phillips #2 heads.

One pneumatic strut assembly with six black PhillipsHead wood screws for installation.

Four pan brackets: two with post tops andtwo with hinged tops.

Twelve drilled plates for holding topsections together atthe seams.

One wire management pan.

Step 1On a clean, soft floor, lay thePIANO pieces face down in thearea you will be setting the table. You can make judgements aboutfinal placement during assembly.

Using a nut driver set to heavytorque (16 out of 17 on a Dewalt),install 6 legs using 8 each hex-head bolts. Note the 8-pattern forleg locations.

Two of the legs supplied have wiremanagement holes. Plan aheadfor their location to suit your needs.Holes should face the inside.

Leg Locations

Floor Leveler Leg Feature

Step 2Install the connecting plates tothe curved table sections using 3bolts each. Install these loosely.

DO NOT attempt to install all ofthe bolts and turn the table over. This will fail.

DO NOT attempt to connect twosections together on the floorand turn them over together. This is likely to tear out theinserts and ruin the tops.

Step 3Using 2 people, turn the curvedflipIT section on its legs. Locatethe final position for PIANO now;however, minor adjustments canbe made during the assemblyprocess.

Start with this piece:

Legs have floor levelerfeet that can be usedfor stabilization onuneven floors. Makesure the levelers arenot extended on yourinitial set-up. Usethem only as needed.

Step 4With one person holding thecurved section, the other person turns the straight sectionon its leg and situates it on theconnecting plates.

Install bolts through the connect-ing plate finger tight. The tablesystem will be kept loose until allsections are attached, then tight-ened to heavy torque when eachjoint is held in position.

DO NOT get ahead of yourselfand torque down all of the boltsas you go. This will not savetime.

When all sections are looselytogether, they are far closer totheir final position. Wait to applyfinal torque.

When loosely joined, these two sections now have enoughstability to stand alone on 3 legs.

Step 5Turn the other straight section on its leg and situate it on theconnector plates.

Install the bolts through the connector plates finger tight.

Step 6Turn a curved corner on its legand fasten with bolts, finger tight.

Step 7Turn the other curved corner on its leg and fasten with bolts, finger tight.

Step 8Place the final straight section in position and bolt into positionfinger tight.

Step 9This requires teamwork. Oneperson checks the alignment ofthe seam and the outer edge soit is flush.

While one person holds the seamtogether, the other persontorques the plates with the nutdriver.

This is the time when little adjust-ments can be made to situate thePIANO 5 perfectly in the room.As the sections become torquedtogether, the stress of largemovements will not be good onthe materials.

If you need to make large adjust-ments to the table sections, loosen the joints all around, make the movement desired, then do this process again.

Torque the joints sequentially, starting with the solid end sec-tion, then in this order:

Step 10Install the hinged pan brackets tothe right side of the well and thepost pan head brackets on theleft (as seen in the bottomphoto).

These attach with three hex-headbolts per bracket.

Step 11Using 2 people, lift the lid intoposition with the inserts over thehinged brackets.

One person goes under the tableand installs 2 hex head bolts intoeach hinge finger tight.

Final adjustments are made tothe positioning of the lid from thetop side.

The person top side holds the lidin position while the personunder the table torques the nutssecurely into position.

Step 12Install the PIANO lid strut using 6black Phillips head wood screws.

Install into pre-drilled pilot holes, starting with the table end andfinishing with the lid.

Have a helper hold the lid asneeded.

Step 13Install hex-head bolts into all 4 ofthe pan support brackets. Let theheads extend about a quarterinch to receive the edge of thewire management pan.

Step 14Lay the wire management panonto the extended bolts. Gravityholds the pan in place.
