null.courseAction: Teachingstrategies need to be employedthat will further assist students indistinguishing betweensociological theories andperspectives to assist them inusing these to identify casestudies. The students did nothave a difficult time identifyingthe sociological perspectives ortheories but did find it challengingto apply them to the case studies.Having further practice thatpresents case studies as thestudents will see them on theexam will assist them in beingmore successful with applyingthese sociological perspectivesand theories to the case studies.(10/22/2015)Action Category: TeachingStrategies

null.courseAction: TeachingStrategies: Since we are meetingour targets there is nothingproposed that needs changing inregards to pedagogical approachand methods in the classroom.Challenges faced by the studentsthat impact academicperformance are primarily relatedto attitudes and methods inregards to learning culturally andat the institutional level in theU.S.A. and levels of academic skillsand critical thinking skills whichare also related to the culture andsocial inequities, race and socio-economic profile. Anyimprovement in rates of successe.g. from a ‘C’ to an ‘A’, or fromdropping out to graduating mustnecessarily address the fact thatimprovement of the profiles ofsuccess and failure are a functiondependent upon an overhaul shiftand reform in resourcedistribution, access, Americaneducation policy and attitudinalchanges related to pedagogicalfocus/purpose on this campus.(10/21/2016)Action Category: TeachingStrategiesnull.courseAction:Program/College: These resultsreinforce the perception andperhaps fact that the interactionbetween the faculty member and

Semester and Year Assessment Conducted: 2014-15(Spring 2015)Standard Met? : Standard MetIn relation to overall student success out of the 36 finalgrades earned, 11 did not take the final exam assessment; 5did not complete the project assignment i.e. they did notcomplete the assessment instrument. The result is: 25/36 students with a ‘C’ grade or better. Outof those 36 students 5 students received a D grade and 8failed the course. Of those 8 failures, none submitted thefinal exam assessment. Of those 8 failures, 6 did not submitthe project assignment. Therefore we can conclude that of all the students thatactually participated in the class and submitted one or bothassessment exercises 28 students received passing grade;and of those 28 students 25 received a grade of C or better.A majority of students 16/36 received marks above ‘C’The grading breakdown is: 8A’s; 12B’s; 5C’s; 3D’s; 8F’s (ofthese 8 failures, 6 did not participate in either assessmentexercise).
