§4 Diesel-Engines in machines (f.e. construction machinery) and other technical equipment have to be equipped with a particle cleaning system.

§7 Driving ban for heavy duty vehicles above 7,5 tons with first registration date before 1992 (from 2007) and 1995 (from 2009).

§ 8 Driving ban for passenger cars with diesel-engines < EURO 4 without particle cleaning system in the area of Graz after 5 consecutive days with daily mean values above 75 µg/m³ and no meteorological change forcasted (winter 2006/07)

- high concentrations at at least 2 monitoring stations- ban between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m.- exceptions:

- highways und motorways- access to park&ride-places

- > 2 (3) occupants

- Anouncement via broadcast- Increased frequency of public transport- Public schools start 2 hours later

§ 9 Driving ban for passenger cars with diesel-engines < EURO 4 without ohne particle cleaning system in the area of Graz after 5 days with daily mean values above 50 µg/m³ and no meteorological change forcasted (from winter 2007/08)

-minus 25% total PM10 emissions-exceedance-days:

-minus 4% of pollution-decrease of average DMV from 77 µg/m³ to 74 µg/m³

-minus 35% total PM10 emissions-exceedance-days:

-minus 7% of pollution-decrease of average DMV from 77 µg/m³ to 72 µg/m³

-Improvement and promotion of public transport-Reduction of individual, especially commuter traffic

- Upgrading and speedup of public transport- Extension of billable parking zones- Mobility consulting for companys

-Promotion of particle cleaning systems- Financial support- Reduction of car registration fee- Driving bans for different types of vehicles

-Speedlimits in winter-Reduction of winter service (especially sanding)-Improved street cleaning

-More official controls -Reduction of emission thresholds in various ordinances for technical installations-Reduction of fugitive emissions of industrial processes and construction sites

-Stricter emission limit values for new heating installations-Incentives to change to district heating networks-Substitution of solid fuel heating systems, especially old ones-Incentives to save energy (building insulation)-Regional planning: ban on solid fuel heating systems in special areas

-Reduction of ammonia emissions-Stables-Manure disposal

Incentive to exchange old solid Fuel Firings in GrazChange to district heating or natural gas in higher polluted districts of Graz for recipients of rental aid will be supported up to 100% (depending on their earning capacities)Financial support: - max. 120 €/m² living area- or max. 8.400 € for a 2person-household- plus max. 1.800 € for every additional personObligatory energy-counsulting
