Parish NewsCatechism Classes Registration Now Open
Our Pre-school, First Holy Communion and Confirmation Preparation classes beginning on Sunday, 13 January 2019 at 9:20 am sharp. We have a very good reputation for preparing our children for these precious sacraments, and we encourage all parents with children wishing to receive their First Holy Communion and Confirmation to register. The parish is also offering pre-school catechism classes for children between the ages of 4 – 6 years. To register your children please telephone the office at (780) 422-8304. Application forms are available in our parish website and in Church.

The Giving Tree 2018It is time once more for the collection of Christ-mas gifts for the needy children of our area.
Please pick up a tag with the age and gender of the child. Then, purchase an appropriate gift (toys or other fun gifts). If the tags are finished, please feel free to bring an unwrapped, unlabelled, child’s gift.
DO NOT wrap the gift. Simply attach the identifying tag to the gift and place it under the Christmas tree at the back of the Church.
Gifts must be brought in no later than Sunday, 16 December 2018. Thank you for your cooperation and gener-osity.

Se non ci sono più cartellini, potete liberamente portare un regalo per bambino, che non sia
incartato e senza nome.
Non incartate il regalo. Semplicemente attaccate il cartellino al regalo e mettetelo sotto
l’albero di Natale all’entrata della chiesa.
I regali devono essere portati in chiesa non più tardi di domenica, 16 dicembre, 2018.

31st Sunday In Ordinary TimeI have been spending time with people who know the law enough to know that they have broken it. From the beginning of time, they have been told by those around them that they are damaged goods, not worthy of care and attention. Some of them have been shamed in the core of their being and their law-abid-ing communities have attempted to straighten them out even if it kills them. The “damaged goods” people cope with the bad news of not being good enough by using drugs or other ways of numbing their pain; then they sell their bod-ies to use more drugs; some get pregnant and end their pregnancy; and to survive the shame and the guilt that is choking them they then use even more drugs. If Christ came today, he would come again for such as these. He would spend time with them and love them in their “as is” state. When the law-abiding neigh-bours would approach him with their mistrust and disapproval, he would remind them of the good news that the Law is Love. If they loved God fulltime and cared for their neighbour for the rest of the time, the reign of God would be theirs here and now. Maria Karajovanova
