Film 1: Spectre (2015) Font, Colour, Suitable to genre.

The font within the opening sequence of “Spectre” is sans serif meaning that the end of the letters are not curved and are just straight. This font is suitable to the genre as Spectre is a very serious and professional film, therefore making this font very suitable as it is very serious and straight to the point and doesn’t change which makes it seem clean and professional.

The colour of the font is white, which is a big contrast from the background of very dark colours, this is effective as the white juxtaposing against the black making the font very visible and clear to read. The animation of the font is interesting as it dissolves in and out quickly into the frame, this allows a calm transition of the font making it easy for the audience to keep up with the font and read it.

Spectre (2015) Film Billing, Size and Placement

The order of the film billing is very traditional and follows the stereotypical format of a normal film. For instance, starting of with the distribution company is very traditional as they own the film and therefore want to be at the beginning of the film.

The size of the font is effective as it is big enough so that the audience will see all the font clearly and wont have to struggle reading it. In addition, the placement of the font is very intriguing as they place the distribution company and the main actor right in the middle of the frame. This is because they are the most important and they want everyone to see it clearly, therefore they placed it right in the middle of the frame, visible to everyone. Daniel Craig is a well known actor, therefore the producers wanted to put his name near the start so that people know that he is in the film therefore attracting more people to the film as he is well known for being a good actor.

Film 2: Zombie landThe OTS for Zombie land does not start

with the usual credits and film titles which makes it quite unconventional. Instead of the titles, it starts by showing different rules for surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. All the letter are upper case making it easier to read, and the colours which they use vary so the same tone matches the scenes MES, making them very clear.

Because the rules are short and straight to the point you get to read them, and also follow what is happening in the scene. To bring out the titles even more, the scenes represent scenarios of what can happen if those rules aren't followed.

Opening credits and titlesThe opening credits on the other hand

are very convectional as they follow the usual pattern of the Distribution company – production company – the head actors and so on.

The titles are also all upper case and have a red colour which would represent all the death and blood the film. The font is Tw Cen MT Condensed extra bold which was done in 3D and outlined. The font is really clear and very easy to read. The titles are rather subtle, but they are in line with the surrounding making they very clear and affective. They have different animation from scene to scene, but they follow the same pattern of being broken.
