• Repeatedly in and out of room to read timers

• Clothes are NOT picked up in timely manner

• Users hesitate touching clothes that are not

theirs; wait around for people to claim them

Excerpts from interview

• Laundry experience = WAR

• Machines are stolen when still full of clothes

• Users are easily sidetracked; hard to

remember when cycles are finished

• Trips to laundry room aren’t worth it if no

machines are available


Anecdotal Observations

• Knowing availability of machines is valuable

• Saves a number of trips; more efficient

• Students are easily distracted.

• Laundry is not a priority, often forgotten

• Display timers of all machines in real time

• Set alarms for when cycles are finished

• Set alerts prior to the end of a cycle
