Trailer Frame Analysis:

Frame 1This frame is the first frame we see in the opening title sequence. It is all based on the intuition which in this case is warner brothers. There is no fancy animation before the start it dives straight into this. The way it comes across is with boxes shifting from rig to lift later with the text appearing. The music used gives a very jazzy essence and the way its been used can be related with many films that surround theft (hustling) gambling films. Evens so it gives of a late 80’s feel. The color used is a turquoise colour which gives of a calm and subtle feel, and this is backed up with the music.

Frame 2In this frame we see the ‘King Of Hearts’ & the ‘Jack Of Diamonds’ Which again brings about the idea this film will be related to gambling. We also see the first title card of one of the actors, which show the billing order. Meaning George Clooney is a well known actor and too have him first shows that his role in the film will be quite significant, as it is probably the main role. Also the ‘King Of Hearts’ has a certain resemblance to George Clooney and this was probably used in the animation on purpose. To animate the characters while also giving the opening a kind of abstract essence.

Frame 3In this specific frame we sea a rotating slot machine and the affect this has on the audience would be, what is the outcome? Do they win the jackpot? This is exactly what is happening the point is to have a certain enigma and keep the audience wondering of the fate of this individual whole pulled the leaver.

Frame 4This specific frame gives more hints of what the films is going to be about. We see some alcohol and looking at the start we connoted gambling so the hint could now be a casino. A casino Is a place where one could see gambling and alcohol and this really gives a more obvious definition. As well as that we see another actor name, as well as being known maybe we can associate the alcohol with this actor and maybe in the film he may be an alcoholic.

Frame 5Through past frames we have seen alcohol and gambling and see we related to casino, what's missing, money. This frame gives the final hint linking in that this film may surround a robbery most likely taking place in a casino. It is in casinos where one would know that tons of money is stored, so the narrative may be they are trying to steal the money. Not only that the animation is quite effective as at first it was the lock that was spinning before the actual vault opening. Once opened the audience are presented with money bags, which one could link to big theft. If one is interested in this types of films then they can be assured that they will enjoy this.

Frame 6Again we are greeted with more playing cards it is as if the audience are being forced to look at the cards and fully associate it with the film. Majority of the opening sequence has been relating to playing cards. No only are the audience being forced to see it but again we can see faces on the cards. Such as the ‘Queen Of Hearts’ can be associated with Julia Roberts, it is a very smart thing to do. Again giving it a certain abstract feel because main may not know the exact face of the actor but through this method the audience get a vivid idea.

Frame 7This is arguably one of the main frames with the films as it gives away the title. Weirdly one would not associate these words with the world of gambling, theft and alcohol so it makes the audience wonder how can the name associate with all this. One could say it is a gang name or a certain group who are behind something specific relating to the visuals. In this portion we see a spinning roulette wheel which again we see the idea of gambling, and it is confirmed that this genuinely a theme with in the whole film.

Frame 8Here we are notified by who are the executive producers. They tend to have a big part in the creation of the film because it is there money that has helped bring the films to life. They really have a strong role and may films one would find they are the last name card to be displayed, but that a is not a convention. Taking reference of what is in the frame, we see hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs. All of what resemble icons on a deck of playing cards. Again we see this in practically every frame, hinting more and more to the world of a casino, as well as having a certain abstract fell to it.

Frame 9This being the final frame of the opening title sequence we get too see the name of the director. This has been cleverly placed as the name of the director is embedded right in the center of the clubs. Again it relates to the idea of gambling and the use of many card games that may be seen in the film.
