Shinny the Tree Whistler

This sport is for the hardy, hiking, camping ‘Rain Forest
types’.....any pristine rain forest, anywhere, will do.........
We still have a few in British Columbia, Canada.
• Sometimes a long hike in the beautiful rain forest, the smell of the damp and fertile earth, the majesty of 150 year old gnarled trees, surviving nature and ‘intervention’ by critters like us......is not enough....
• We need a Sport!
REQUIRED:A whistle kettle, dressmakers’ tape measure, several tall and happy trees, ‘age appropriate shinniers’.
1. Build fire.2. Set the whistle kettle with 1/2 cup of water on the fire. 3. Ready, set, SHINNY UP THE TREE!!!!!!!!!!4. When the whistle blows, climbers must stop and whistle.
RULES:
Anyone who does not stop is disqualified.Anyone who can’t whistle is disqualified.‘Pretend whistling is allowed’Climb must be verticalNo going out on a limbNo ropes allowedNo spikey boots allowed.No whining even if you skin your elbow
• Whomever reaches the greatest height when the whistle blows, whistles or ‘pretend whistles’ wins!
• Okthen....Round 2....
• One full cup of water is put in the kettle.
• The race begins again.....same rules....
