[AT] Connects Accessibility Project
What? Open Platform
Crowdsourcing Accessibility InformationIntegration of Accessibility Data via an Open API
What does it mean?Simply put: We intend to create a universal repository for accessibility data and provide access to this data to everyone.
Where do we start? This is a big undertaking. To start we’re going to work on location based data.
Quick Peek at Miesto
Miesto [mee-esto] will allow users to search for accessible locations in their area as well as leave feedback on locations that they visit.
Our goal is to facilitate a thriving community that will span the globe and provide rich data to both the user community as well as local business owners.
Data that users enter via Miesto will be available as part of the Accessibility Project’s public API.
When? Miesto isn’t quite ready for public consumption just yet.
We’re aiming for a launch late this year on iOS devices with Android support coming next year. There will be a signup to become a beta tester going up
early fall if you’d like to get involved with the apps development and provide feedback.http://miesto.launchrock.com/
