Ethic-1
He/She can explain the term ethic

dimension, for example; professional ethics, medical ethics, media ethics, science
ethics and so on.

Ethic-2
He/She can explain the term ethic
Ethic rules are not written as opposed to laws. Therefore, they are not always
obliged to.
Laws, on the other hand, are formal and normative that regulates all social
relationships between each side.
Ethics are based on human’s favor and they are further discussed
Individual’s favor
The quality of social favor
The relationship between two above
The motivation of creating “social favor” or “ethically true”

Ethic-3
He/she can explain the term ethic
Ethic is based on human’s favor and open a discussion for them
Individual’s favor
Social’s favor
The relationship between two above
The motivation of individuals to create social favor
The relationship between pleasure and favor
What is virtue and its nature? (antic ethic)
Task and moral obligations (modern ethic)
Free will

Ethic-4
He/She can explain the term ethic
Ethic science examines following questions:
• Is happiness a final point for our behaviors?
• Should we prefer virtue to pleasure?
• Should I behave what society suggest?
• Should I protect my family’s wealth along with others’ wealth

• What is the meaning of free will
• What is the base of our behaviors: “Mind” or “Emotions”
• How about “good”, “true”, “obligation”, ”task” and “conscious” theoretically or
practically?

The Importance of Engineering Ethics
He/She can justify the necessities of engineering ethics courses
Ethics course prepares the students for professional life
It helps students to make decisions when controversial cases that include ethical
considerations
Some skills that are acknowledged by public can be acquired: communication,
questioning, giving right decision and so on.
It maintains students to find «the good» and «the right» choice by comparing
different ideas on any subject
It helps you to understand the nature of professional responsibilities
