This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding and well-respected Executive Search firm. The new Associate Consultant, Asia will have the chance to work closely with seasoned Consultants and assist them in project delivery for at least 5-6 assignments at one time.
Oxford HR operates in three main regions with a team focused on each of these: Asia and MENA, Africa, and Europe, with consultants and researchers specialising in a region. The Associate Consultant, Asia will carry out a mix of executive search and research into potential clients and candidates for each assignment, working closely with the Client and Senior Consultants to define and execute search strategies and ensure that the very best candidates and sources are aware of the opportunity. Depending on the assignment, they will work with Researchers and Project Administrators to ensure effective and timely project delivery.
This is a tight-knit, collaborative team and while each post-holder will have specific work areas assigned to them, from time to time they will have to cover each other’s work. This offers the opportunity to gain insight the entire recruitment process, from start to finish, and to learn from experienced consultants.

The Role
Job PurposeThe Associate Consultant Asia main role is to work closely with the Principal Consultants and assist them in executive search (head-hunting) for 5-6 assignments at one time. The Associate Consultant, Asia will carry out a mix of project delivery and research into potential clients and candidates for each assignment efficiently and accurately so that information is readily accessible to the lead Consultants. This will involve an amount of administration for each assignment, which will
be supported by the Project Administrator.
S/he will also research information on organisations and ensure that database is up-to-date and readily accessible by Consultants.

Project delivery• Assist in the development of proposals and attend client meetings and pitches;• Work with individual clients to develop the role profile, job description and person specification
and full applicant brief. Advisory support on recruitment practicalities such as salary levels and visa requirements. Attend briefing meetings either in person or via Skype;
• Develop realistic time frames and schedules with the client.• Interview the shortlisted candidates, usually via Skype or in person, based on the requirements
of each individual role;• Work with candidates to make sure their applications are suitable, coaching them on interview
techniques and ensuring that they are fully prepared for client interviews.• Create a shortlist of applicants from the longlist report produced from the search;• Prepare project reports for clients, updating them on progress and giving them more details on
the relevant applicants.
Business Development• Support the implementation of a strategy for contacting clients that lies within agreed
parameters;• Participate in business development meetings with new and existing clients, either in person or
via phone/Skype;• Attend relevant conferences/seminars/networking opportunities;• Work with colleagues to cross sell areas of business and produce company-wide business
development plans.
Research• The research function can be related to specific assignments and/or business development• Prepare a comprehensive research list of potential candidates, contacts or search leads for each
assignment (e.g. Head of Education for Save the Children). The research list could be drawn using various research tools like OxHR database search, Boolean search, LinkedIn networks/groups, Google and search leads from trusted contacts
• Search for new organisations for potential candidates and/or business development and gather the general sector knowledge. This should be recorded on to the database and contacted
• Searching for new websites that are relevant for our fields of work in international development and update our database
• Sourcing interesting and latest updates in the international development sector and contributing to the Oxford HR blog site.
Search Administration – in conjunction with the Project Administrators• Attend team and company meetings, taking turns to chair or minute as appropriate;• Be responsible for own administration outside of the Researcher’s remit and ensure that the
Database is kept up to date.
Personal Management• Ensure effective time management;• Undertake foreign travel as and when required;• Hours are deliberately flexible as much of work may take place out of standard office hours due
to clients/candidates being in different time zones;• Maintain a positive attitude to the company, its products and to business development;• Deliver on a personal and the fulfilment of other duties as required, within reason;• Follow agreed KPls specific to your role and targets.• This post is expected to develop and for new duties to be added as work streams and
technologies change.

Experience and Knowledge• Experience conducting search and selection with qualitative desk research, ideally in executive
search, although other paths are considered, such as academic research, marketing research, etc• Demonstrable interest and broad knowledge of current affairs and geopolitical issues, namely
international development and humanitarian contexts in Asia and overseas• Fast and accurate research and administrative skills and experience• Facility with the suite of Microsoft Office tools and the ability to learn to use new software• Knowledge of databases, data and communicating the salient points of complex information
Skills and Abilities• Excellent communication skills with keen attention to detail and the confidence to liaise with
senior candidates and clients• Calm under pressure, with a good understanding of cultural diversity• Exemplary organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage conflicting deadlines
