Her strengths include leveraging print and digital mediums to create awareness, inform and engage stakeholders, and inspire action. As Associate Director of Strategic Communications at the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, she leads the Center’s communications activities. Her core responsibility of managing and implementing the Center’s communications strategy encompasses media relations, publication production, social media platforms, and the Center’s website. In addition, Hilary works closely with the Center’s Operations Director to enhance fundraising efforts. Prior to joining the Center, Hilary served as Senior Communications Specialist at the Association of Public Health Laboratories where she not only managed the print and digital production of all publications, but also collaborated on crafting strategies to evolve the association’s content and digital presence. She also served as editor of APHL’s quarterly magazine Lab Matters. Before joining APHL in 2013, Hilary worked at education nonprofit America’s Promise Alliance as Senior Director of Publications & New Media where she played a pivotal role in developing an online knowledge management platform and redesigning the organization’s website. Previous positions at the International Franchise Association and the NFL’s youth football entity, USA Football, enabled her to develop a solid foundation in managing editorial content, marketing and project management. Throughout her career, Hilary has developed an aptitude for executing awareness campaigns, writing for a range of platforms and audiences; boosting organizational social media presence; creating and implementing marketing plans; planning annual conferences; and streamlining communications activities for maximum impact. A member of the College Park Scholars Program, Hilary graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.A. in English with a concentration in language, writing and rhetoric.
