JOB DESCRIPTION: Associate Training Coordinator
Reports to National Training Centre Manager (NTCM)
Location London (with regular travel across the country)
Salary £29,636 plus inner London weighting £3,332
Length of contract Full time, fixed term contract for one year
MAIN PURPOSE OF POST
To lead on the development, maintenance and support of a team of associate trainers.
To work with the National Training Centre Team (NTCT) to co-ordinate the development and delivery of training courses by associate trainers.
To maximise income from the National Training Centre which can be invested in its own development and that of Women’s Aid more widely.
TASKS SPECIFIC TO POST HOLDER To recruit a diverse team of associate trainers To develop CPD training days that reflect the requirements of the domestic abuse
sector and other professionals responding to domestic abuse To utilise already existing training packages To participate in the design of training packages To work with the existing team to support the induction of new associate trainers To disseminate, in several formats, information about all the strands of work that
the National Training Centre carry out To evaluate the work of the associate trainers, the training delivered and their
continual professional development. To promote the work of the National Training Centre To provide reports on the work to your line manager as required.
JOINT TASKS WITH THE NTCM AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE TRAINING TEAM To assist in the production of appropriate materials for Women’s Aid training
events. To liaise with other national staff when identifying and promoting future training
provision. To assist in the regular assessment of training needs within the domestic and
sexual violence sector. To maintain all information related to training and associate trainers within the NTC To organise training events To successfully promote the training opportunities available To actively seek opportunities for the delivery of training and consultancy
throughout England. To take direction on training projects and priorities from your line manager To be flexible within the broad remit of the post

To maintain clear and accurate records of work done or in progress and ensure that they are accessible to other staff.
To carry out typing, filing and other administrative tasks necessary to carry out job description.
STAFF LIAISON The Associate Training Coordinator will undertake these tasks in close liaison, co-
operation and consultation with the Training Manager and other members of staff working within the National Training Centre.
GENERAL To support the aims, values and principles of Women’s Aid. To abide by all organisational policies, codes of conduct and practice, and to work
within a framework of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice. To attend staff and team meetings as required. To report to management, in an accurate and timely manner, all lieu-time, annual
leave, sickness and other absence information. To undertake any other reasonable tasks deemed necessary by management. Whilst based in London, this job will on occasions involve travel throughout the
country. This will include some overnight stays and occasional unsociable hours will also be required.
This job description will be reviewed annually and may need to be revised according to the priorities of current workload with the agreement of Management.

Experience: Essential Desirable
1. Substantial experience of developing and delivering domestic abuse related training in either the voluntary or statutory sector
2. Experience of developing and implementing a training programme based on identified need
3. Experience of coordinating and supporting others to deliver good quality training
4. Experience of creating training resources in the field of domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse
5. Experience of working to meet the needs of diverse communities
6. Experience of promoting training opportunities to a wide range of audiences
Knowledge of:
7. The needs and experiences of abused women and children
8. The role of voluntary and statutory services in meeting those needs
9. Equality and diversity legislation, policy and practice
10. A wide range of training methods and materials
11. Relevant training provision
Skills and abilities:
12. Excellent training, presentation and public speaking skills to a wide range of audiences
13. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills including networking and liaison at a variety of levels

15. Ability to collate, organise and process information efficiently including complex delivery schedules.

SUMMARY OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Terms of appointment: Confirmation of appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period. This will normally be of six months. During this time an employee will be expected to establish their suitability for the post. During the probationary period employment may be terminated in writing, giving one week's notice by either party (this may be waived by mutual agreement). Only any statutory dismissal procedure will apply during the probationary period. There is no probationary period for contracts of under 3 months.
Salary: £29,636 plus inner London weighting £3,332. (On an incremental scale guided by the NJC Local authority pay scale points 35-39) + benefits. Salary is paid in arrears through bank credit by the 25th of each month. Part time staff receive pro-rata payment based on hours worked.
Working hours: The standard working hours for this post are 37 hours per week, based in Bristol; benefits include a generous bank holidays and annual leave package and contributory pension scheme.
Support and supervision: Women’s Aid has a commitment to providing regular supervision and support to staff with annual appraisals forming a key part of staff development. We have a training policy in place and encourage staff to take an active role in their career development plan. Pension: Women’s Aid is enrolled with the People’s Pension scheme. Women’s Aid normally contributes 7% of salary and the employee contributes 3% towards the group pension scheme. Eligible staff will be automatically enrolled on the scheme when they have successfully completed the 3 month interim probationary review. .
Annual Leave: Women’s Aid offers an annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year rising by one day per year until 30 days annual leave per year is reached. In addition, we offer 8 days public holidays plus 2 additional days in March and August. All leave entitlement is calculated pro-rata for part time employees.
Other leave: Employees have contractual rights to time off for reasons of sickness, maternity and other circumstances.
Period of notice: 1 month after your probationary period has been completed.
Union: You have a right to membership of a trade union. Women’s Aid recognises Unison.
