This phase of the competition is open to the public. We welcome everyone to come see the five finalists vying for the opportunity to represent Angus youth and be an ambassador for the Angus breed.

Attendees at the convention will have a chance to shop our Angus Gift Barn during the convention. All of your favorite items, along with new products to be debuted during this event, will be on display. We have had a very successful year, and we thank all of our customers for supporting the Auxiliary. We have strived to bring new and unique items to all Angus enthusiasts and bring awareness to the Auxiliary and our programs in the process. You will not be disappointed in the new items. As always, if you are not able to attend the Auxiliary’s Annual Meeting and the Angus Means Business Convention, be sure to shop online at www.angusgiftbarn.com.

The Auxiliary extends an invitation to all to come join us during our Annual Meeting activities. Whether you are currently a member or not, we would love for you to

come see what the Auxiliary is about and learn about our involvement in supporting our Angus youth and the Angus breed as a whole.

attendance that they could check their contact information with her after the meeting.

Lampe said the Auxiliary’s Facebook fans and interaction are growing. The goal is to have at least 2,000 fans/likes by the end of the NJAS. The contest is to “Like” the Auxiliary Facebook page and come show an officer on your phone. That will enter you in the contest. The cut-off time for the contest was Friday at 6 p.m. One lucky winner will win a numbered print if their name is drawn.

Christy Perdue reported on the Angus Gift Barn. She invited people to come see the new items and said that she can ship things to you. She said the Gift Barn has been very busy and some things are selling out quickly.

Lynne Hinrichsen reported on scholarships. She mentioned how many good applications there were this year. She also asked people to tell advisors, juniors and parents in their states that they need to make sure applications are complete. She said, unfortunately, there were a number of applications that were disqualified due to being incomplete. She also touched base on the Gold, Silver and Bronze pins. She reminded everyone that junior advisors need to make sure juniors double-check their applications and make sure they are complete and submitted in a timely manner so that they coincide with scholarship applications.

There were more drawings for Chinese Auction items.

New Business Holshouser briefly went over the tentative schedule for the National

Convention in November, touching base specifically on how the Miss American Angus contest will run and when Auxiliary activities will take place. She invited everyone to come.

She gave a big “thank you” to Alan Miller of Prairie View Farms for donating embryos for the Embryo Package Fundraiser to support the Auxiliary. Another big “thank you” went to Joe Horstman, who purchased the embryos. The Auxiliary couldn’t do so much for so many juniors without the support of people like this!

Drawings included one for new members to win a Lifetime Membership. Winner was Ada Pfieffer from Oklahoma. A drawing for Life Members to receive an Angus Gift Barn gift certificate was won by Carolyn Gazda from Georgia. Drawings for the rest of the Chinese Auction items was completed.

Holshouser made a few more announcements about stopping by the Angus Gift Barn and to send in state Auxiliary happenings to Emma Collins, Auxiliary Historian.

A motion to adjourn was made by Sharee Sankey and seconded by Anne Patton Schubert. The motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m.

Respectfully submitted by Carla Malson, secretary-treasurer
