Strategy Implementation Diagnostic tool – conditions for project
success Trained volunteers (MAPMs or FAPMs) will
audit the business against specified factors and provide feedback
Free of charge to the SME, limited # of sessions
Aim is to make it available across the UK
To provide an advisory service that supports local SME businesses and charities in their approach to project management through a limited number of free hands-on sessions with experts across the breadth of the UK
Next step: Undertake a pilot to understand take-up from SMEs and the effort involved

Giving Back - Training Support for Charities
Key aims Improve project outcomes, in a sector
where funding is limited Support the increased adoption of project
management professionals Reinforce our role as working in the interest
of public benefit to improve the UK economy and society
Raise the profile of APM and the profession in the charity sector
Strategy Implementation We will deliver project management
training through an approved Accredited Training Provider
Provide an opportunity to sit the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
Provide the environment for charities to network with similar organisations
APM will reinvest resources and provide funded training to support charities and aid organisations to build project management capabilities, implement best practice and deliver successful projects.
Next step: Application process has opened and selection of candidates underway, training to commence in December 2019.

Making Better Use of Project Data
Key aims To support the profession in data driven
decision-making and preparing for the future
To help the profession to understand the role of data analytics and data science in project environments
To provide support to communities of interest in project data analytics
To drive standards and best practice in data collection and analysis in the project environment
Strategy Implementation Initially research activity to understand current
maturity levels of data analytics in projects Chair a pan-sector working group to inform future
APM strategy Define data collection standards across the
profession Investigate how constructs such as data trusts,
cooperatives and common standards could support the project management world
APM to provide research, guidance and resources on the use of project data from and for our members, stakeholders and the profession. The objective will be to provide benefit to our members and the wider project community, to drive success in project delivery
Next step: Establish a pan-sector working group to define research activity

APM Brand ReviewTo consider all aspects of APM’s existing brand to determine what changes we should make having been granted our Royal Charter in 2017. Note the current brand was launched in 2005 with a secondary “chartered” brand introduced in 2017.

Ensure our brand reflects, supports and communicates APM as an organisation
Ensure the opportunities and strengths of chartered status are leveraged
Ensure that APM stands out and remains salient and relevant to members, potential members and stakeholders.

– Research: staff, volunteers, members, corporates, non-members, influencers, other external stakeholders

To approve some changes to the Royal Charter and By-Laws After two years of operation, the Board held a review of the wording Suggested changes circulated and detail on your chairs. Changes are essentially
‘housekeeping’ and for clarity. Final approval by Privy Council required. Vote and approval required please.
THAT the Charter and By-Laws [as can be viewed online at www.apm.org.uk/AGM2019] and for the purposes of identification marked ‘A’ are approved and adopted as the Charter and By-Laws of the Association in substitution for and to the exclusion of the existing Charter and By-Laws of the Association, subject to formal approval of the Privy Council and subject to any minor amendments that the Privy Council may require.

Under the Charter and Regulations, undertaken as a poll vote with the ballot delivering proxies to the AGM.
First three candidates get three year terms; fourth placed gets a two-year term.
