Scheduled Board Meetingsfor Lake Arrowhead Chalets

The meeting took place at Desert Isle Resort at 9:00 a.m. Board members present were Marion Phelps, Herbert Uhlhorn, Jennifer La Fontaine and David Dicus. Kevin Jetton and Woodson Samuel were unable to attend. Representing management was Charles Wendt from VRI and Denise Vasquez, Resort General Manager. The following actions took place:

• Approved the Board of Directors Meeting Minutes of April 14, 2018 as presented.

• The Board directs Management to begin the process of cleaning up inventory attached to unit #124 (account numbers that start with 08) so the unit can be sold as a whole unit. Begin the foreclosure process on delinquent owners and begin to contact owners in good standing and attempt to attach the deed to another unit. Cooperating owners in good standing will receive a free bonus week for use at LAC or exchange.

• Approved a number of previously unapproved replacement items as follows: Television for #112 purchased from Walmart in the amount of $274.84, water heaters for #120 and #138 purchased from Lake Drive Hardware in the amount of $592.62 each and resurfacing of bathtubs completed by Reliable Kitchen & Bath in the amount of $4,100. Total amount approved $5,560.08.

• Approved a funds transfer in the amount of $19,806.97 to reimburse the operating account from reserves for replacement items paid out of operating.

• Approved the 2019 operating budget with a 12.21% increase ($655 to $735) on the two-bedroom units and 11.96% increase ($736 to $824) on the three-bedroom units.

• Recon� rmed the Assessment Billing & Collection Policy to include the Eight Month Payment Plan.

• Approved Operating Funds in the amount of $1,575 for a photo shoot of the unit interiors with Chet Frohlich Photography.

• Approved changing the booking day for both Friday and Sunday reservations to Thursday. In the case of a holiday falling on Thursday, the booking day will be the following Monday.

• Approved replacement funds in the amount of $108,803.00 for the replacement of living room furniture, dining room furniture and carpet in the last eight two-bedroom units. Vendor, Granite State, will be noti� ed that the Association does not want to pay the deposit until December 2018 with delivery of furniture sometime in 2019.

• Tabled discussion on a security camera monitoring and computer service maintenance agreement until the vendor can show proof of insurance.

• Approved a maintenance agreement with Lake Arrowhead Village Management for HVAC equipment in the amount of $70.00 per quarter.

#1 Marion Phelps, Coronado, CA (Incumbent) EXPERIENCE: I currently work in Environmental Aff airs at San Diego Internati onal Airport. I have served as President of the Lake Arrowhead Chalets Timeshare Board of Directors for the past three years. Additi onally,

I represent the Timeshares on the Master Associati on Board, advocati ng for ti meshare owners. I also volunteer on a committ ee to update the Master Associati on governing documents. I own my home in Coronado, CA. It is a condominium associati on of which I am a member of the Board of Directors, serving as President. There I also volunteer on a committ ee to update the governing documents.

EDUCATION: I am a Certi fi ed Project Manager and also certi fi ed through Airports Council Internati onal in Airport Environmental Management.

OBJECTIVES: Maintain accountability and transparency in Board operati ons. I will work to ensure adequate resources (including staff , fi nances and technology) to meet or exceed our members’ expectati ons and experiences.

#2 Woodson Samuel, Long Beach, CA (Incumbent) EDUCATION: Masters Science Interacti ve Communicati ons. B Science in Business & Management. Both University of Redlands. Management of Technical Personnel certi fi cati on from UCLA Anderson Graduate School, Hazardous Materials Management from UCLA School of Engineering.

EXPERIENCE: Anderson Villas Treasurer, California B General Building, C10 Electrical & Hazmat Certi fi cati on and seven US Patents. Currently employed by Toyota and have been with the company for 26.5 years. I have served on the Lake Arrowhead Chalets Board for four years and have worked to keep costs minimized to maintain the lowest annual dues.

OBJECTIVES: Serve the Board Acti viti es providing eff ecti ve and criti cal review of issues to provide the best service at the least cost for owners.

#3 David Dicus, Apple Valley, CA (Incumbent) EDUCATION: BS Degree in Agriculture, Advance Profi ciency in Law Enforcement, AA Law Enforcement

EXPERIENCE: 32 years in Law Enforcement and reti red at the rank of Lieutenant. Handled many types of budgets. Hired and fi red employees. Testi fi ed criminally and civilly in court. Currently live in a HOA, Spring Valley Lake, CA and served on the following committ ees, i.e.; Safety, Architectural committ ee.

OBJECTIVES: Promote fi scal responsibility, develop a short and long term vision for the Chalets, approach problems with a problem solving mentality & develop policies that apply. Support the policies that previous boards have developed and that fi t today’s ever evolving social and business environment.

Property TaxesProperty taxes come from the San Bernardino County Tax Assessors Office. If you are NOT receiving an annual tax bill, you will need to contact the tax assessor at (909) 387- 8307 to ensure that they have your correct billing address.

Assessment BillingJust a reminder assessment billing will be mailed out by November 1, 2018. For those of you who pay annually, payments are due by Dec.31 2018. January 1, 2019 they become delinquent. If you have any questions please call the Assessment Billing & Collections department at (949) 855-8004 or call the Lake Arrowhead Chalets office at (909) 337-0457.

Paying Assessment Dues MonthlyJust a reminder for those of you who are pay monthly, you will need to contact the assessment and billing department either by phone or by a written letter stating that you would like to pay monthly with the first month’s payment. Monthly assessment payments are due upon receipt and considered delinquent on the 15th of each month. As a delinquent account, you will no longer receive a monthly statement and payment in full is due. All payments are due on or before August 1st, 2018. If you have any questions please call the Assessment Billing & Collections department at (949) 855-8004 or call the Lake Arrowhead Chalets office at (909) 337-0457.

Just A Reminder

There will be a change on the Booking Day for your yearly reservation starting on the New Year January 1, 2019.

• When booking your reservation 1 year in advance for Friday and Sunday check-in, you will be able to book for both check-in days on Thursday at 6am by phone (949) 859-2181 or online at www.vriresorts.com.

• If a holiday falls on a Thursday you can book the following business day which will be Monday. Please review the Booking Calendar for 2020 & 2021. ENCLOSEDThe Annual Meeting of the members of the Lake Arrowhead Chalets Timeshare Owners Association will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at The Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa @ 10:00 a.m.

YOU ARE URGED TO FILL IN, DATE, SIGN, AND RETURN THE ENCLOSED POSTAGE-PAID PROXY CARD WHETHER OR NOT YOU PLAN TO BE AT THE MEETING. SUCH ACTION WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE IN PERSON SHOULD YOU DECIDE TO ATTEND THE MEETING.

If a quorum of the membership is not represented at the meeting, either in person OR BY PROXY, the Association may be required to adjourn and reschedule the meeting AT ADDITIONAL EXPENSE TO THE ASSOCIATION PAID FROM YOUR ASSESSMENTS. Therefore, you are urged to complete, sign and return the proxy card. You are not required to vote on any issue.
