    INTRODUCTION

    Geophysical surveys were completed in July of 1982 on

    DIGHEM anomalies 140D-142F and 141C-142E in July of 1982 on four

    claims in the Lower Aguasabon Lake Area. The claims are numbered

    as follows:i

    LOCATION AND ACCESS

    The claims are situated approximately 15kms north of

    Terrace Bay and are accessible by helicopter.

    GEOLOGY

    Ontario government geology maps indicate that the claims

    are underlain by mafic and intermediate volcanics. Field

    reconnaissance confirmed these rocks.

    The area is rough with hills from 30 to 150m above the

    lake on the east end of the grid.

    METHOD OF SURVEY

    Three lines were cut and surveyed with a Crone shootback

    instrument as a method of locating the conductors. After the

    axis were located lines were cut east and west as required and

    surveyed with vertical loop. All lines were read with a

    magnetometer. Shootback readings were taken at 25m intervals and

    vertical loop and magnetomer readings were taken at 12.5m

    intervals.

    RESULTS

    Anomaly 140D-142F was traced for 120m, is weak and is

    coincident with a very strong magnetic trend.

    Anomaly 141C-142E is 400m long, relatively strong and is

    coincident with erratic magnetics caused by a dipole effect.

    RECOMMENDATIONS

    Both conductors should be prospected and trenched.

    The MF-2 is a completely now concept in vertical force fluxgate1 magnetometers, 'l hose instruments, which are designed for fnst and accurate mineral ground surveys, are orientation independent, self levelling and require no tripod. The MF-2 combines the electronics and sensor in one compact 3-/-1 II). package. An external dry cell battery pack is provided as standard power source for the instrument. As an option, recharge able batteries may be provided and housed direct ly in the instrument. b) With the latest l.
